After extensive community action that delayed the burning of the tingles last summer, DBCA has confirmed that the tingles are back in the firing line in this years plan. This is a disappointing outcome when the government could have taken this opportunity to give the tingles long term protection.

All bauxite mining in the jarrah forest will now be owned by one US company that has a dismal record of compliance with Aus. laws. Alcoa’s expansion should be scrapped, because while it's under assessment, the impact is already clear: mining for bauxite destroys forests and endangers our water.

He joined the Tingle Action Group and WA Forest Alliance to see both the beauty of long-unburnt tingle forest, thriving as it has for centuries, and the impact of prescribed burning, which has felled hundreds of ancient tingle trees.
