The power of the people is greater than the people in power. Grassroots org working to elect Democrats in Wake Co and turn NC blue! wakedems.org

Donald Trump refuses to sign a housing bill aimed at making homes more affordable by increasing housing supply, placing limits on private equity firms, and making it easier for first-time buyers to get financing. He puts our families at jeopardy to push his own political agenda.

While our state Republican legislators continue to vote on reckless rate hikes for Duke Energy, our Attorney General Jeff Jackson is fighting to save North Carolina an estimated $1.4 Billion dollars. “We can bring that number way down ... That’s what I’m fighting for.”

This right here. Canvassing and speaking to voters actually increases voter turnout. We @wakedems.bsky.social understand the assignment @normeisen.bsky.social and are on it! #NorthCarolina #VoteBlue

At @democracydefendersfund.org & @democracydefendersaction.org we are ready to fight for your vote No shenanigans can overcome one thing: turnout Vote early & in large numbers -- that's how we guarantee free & fair elections & That's how democracy wins @weeknightmsnow.bsky.social👇

Destin Hall was the primary sponsor on a bill that allows Duke Energy to create multi-year rate hikes without oversight. In 2025, he overrode Gov Stein's veto for a bill that allows Duke to increase rates again for future projects. He hopes you will forget.

Justice Anita Earls said it plainly in her dissent: Duke Energy customers could pay more for the same electrical service. Wake County families are already struggling with rising housing, grocery, and energy costs. Higher power bills are not affordability.

Trump's $1.7 billion plus slush fund is corruption at its most obvious: using your taxpayer dollars to reward the President's allies, including Jan 6th rioters convicted of attacking law enforcement. I have yet to speak to anyone - Republican or Democrat - in favor of this.

As North Carolinians are getting crushed by rising costs, the last thing they need is another Duke Energy rate hike. It’s just plain wrong. Michael Whatley spent his career lobbying for big utility companies, including Duke Energy, as your rates climbed higher.

Wake County is full of high-paying jobs, but teachers average only $55,000 while similar degree careers pay double. Republican budgets haven’t kept up, and classrooms feel the turnover. We can raise pay, grow talent, and give students a sound basic education.

I am standing in full solidarity with the thousands of NC teachers marching for fair pay and proper school funding. Wake County faces $16M in cuts this year Today, our educators are putting everything on the line to ensure every student gets the resources they deserve.

North Carolina ranks 46th in teacher pay, and now Wake County teachers are protesting May 1st just for basic support. GOP leaders still can’t pass a real budget with meaningful raises. We should be paying teachers enough to stay, not pushing them out.

Gas in Wake County is $3.92 a gallon, up $1 since January. Trump’s move to close the Strait of Hormuz is squeezing supply and driving up costs, hitting your commute and the price of everyday goods. We should be focused on one thing: Make stuff cost less.

Health care in Wake County is getting harder to afford. People are skipping coverage, and rural hospitals are closing. Roy Cooper showed we can expand access and cancel medical debt. GOP lawmakers still leave DHHS short and can’t pass a budget.

Teachers in Wake County make about $51K, over $10K less than nearby states. Republican leaders have kept salaries flat and won’t pass a budget with real raises. Democrats are pushing to invest in schools so teachers can stay and focus on students, not bills.

Electricity bills in Wake County are up 22% since 2020 and still rising. Instead of relief, Republican leaders gave Duke new ways to charge customers more, even for projects that haven't been built yet. Democrats want to lower your bills through energy savings and competition.

Gas in Wake County is up over $1 a gallon, near the highest since COVID. Donald Trump's war with Iran pushed us here and he doesn’t care what it’s costing families. It's time to end this reckless war of choice and pass the War Powers Resolution.

Tired of the lies? Worried about a war with Iran? Feeling squeezed by grocery and gas prices? Same here. Come out Saturday and remind them they work for us. 11am-1pm Capital Blvd between Sumner Blvd and Old Wake Forest Rd 1pm-3pm NC State Capitol

Get ready for No Kings 3.0 at the state capitol in Raleigh this Saturday! #ncpol @50501nc.bsky.social @democracyoutloud.bsky.social

Today's gas prices thanks to Trump's war in Iran: $3.89 in Rolesville $3.99 in Cary $3.79 in Knightdale $3.65 in Zebulon $3.80 in Raleigh Americans asked for lower costs and an end to wars, yet we've wound up with the complete opposite.

Wake County is growing fast. Our justice system isn’t. We are dead last in NC in prosecutors per capita. That means victims have to wait years rather than months for justice and repeat offenders are staying out on the streets much longer. We must do better.
