Making hope normal again across the Wakefield district! 💚 Published and promoted by and for Wakefield District Green Party, c/o PO Box 78066, London, SE16 9GQ

Our biggest takeaway from the South Asian Heritage Open Day was how "top-down" the history of our district is. Most records tend to be official council records and which is less focussed on the human history of our communities. We encourage anyone with anything at home documenting the history of the

Wakefield District Green Party campaigner, Sid, says: “The South Asian Heritage Open Day at the West Yorkshire History Centre was such an important event. It was a privilege to get to see snapshots of our past and a chance to reflect on how they have shaped our district today. It is vital that our communities continue to contribute to the work so that our history is not lost.”

Wakefield District Green Party welcomes calls to bring high streets in our city and town centres back to life. Green Party councillor, Kate Dodd, says: “This ambition will not be achievable, or visible to local people, without ending the scourge of empty, run down and boarded up shops across the

Dear Wakefield Reform, "WTF" is going on? Aren't you meant to be the champions of common sense and free speech? So why are you running crying to the police when district residents use a few hurty words to call out the poor administration of our council by certain cabinet members?

Reform in Wakefield: Champions of common sense and free speech?

Until...

District residents call them out for doing a terrible job and use some hurty words about them on the internet...

...then they go crying to the police. Diddums!

Wakefield District Green Party condemns Reform’s drastic scaling back of the school uniform voucher scheme which is set to impact around 30,000 children across our district. The Cabinet Member report on this cut, by Cllr. Matthew Caton, was for some reason not listed as a key decision, with the...

Today saw our first proper council meeting under our new Reform adminstration in Wakefield. And today has also seen our council vote to "undeclare" a climate emergency in Wakefield. This is nothing but gesture politics from a council leader who says he's fed up of gesture politics.

Today marks the start of Refugee Week - a time for us to come together and celebrate the acts of courage uniting our communities. Always remember that we have more in common with people coming to Wakefield seeking safety than we do with any billionaires pointing the finger of blame at them.

Wakefield District Green Party Coordinator, Incy, says:

“Thank you to the stall holders who were at the Refugee Week event held at Wakefield Cathedral today. It was wonderful to meet so many people who work and volunteer in the district to try and make the world that bit easier for refugees and asylum seekers.”

Reform UK Wakefield, Five Towns and District, there's some problems with your recent post promoting culture grants. - Using AI generated slop to promote culture grants isn't just ironic - it's insulting and damaging to creatives everywhere. It would be better to utilise creatives within your ranks
