Stonechat study project in Wareham Forest, Dorset looking at adult survival rates. Other heathland birds are surveyed alongside stonechats to help assess population trends and how factors such as habitat management and climate are impacting these species.
Alongside our stonechat study, we’re surveying other heathland species, including woodlark. These 4 chicks were colour-ringed to help monitor dispersal. As a Dorset Heathlands SPA designation species, understanding how woodlarks disperse + use habitats beyond the SPA is vital for their conservation.
