🚨 BREAKING: A federal appeals court has ruled, in a 2-1 decision, that the Trump-Hegseth transgender military ban is likely unconstitutional, finding that the policy appears to be driven by a “bare desire to harm a politically unpopular group” and is “both arbitrary and based upon animus.” 1/3

It is as if undermining the national security of the US were the president’s primary goal. This is more than reckless. It is profoundly dangerous.
Trump just named housing chief Bill Pulte as acting Director of National Intelligence, taking over Tulsi Gabbard’s role until a permanent director is named.
it's almost like it's a bad idea to trot quack Dr Oz out there to take questions about Bill Pulte and the director of national intelligence job. this whole press briefing has been a disaster
Minnesota House Speaker and Republican gubernatorial candidate Lisa Demuth refuses to rule out a pardon for Derek Chauvin: "There's a lot that goes into any type of pardon decision"
Chris Murphy to Markwayne Mullin: "Every single day this agency is violating the Constitution and the law. This cannot continue. For Congress to approve of this budget, you must assure us that this Sherman's March of illegality ends. The worry is the opposite is about to happen."
Profiles in courage once again from senate Republicans. Very brave and principled. bsky.app/profile/atru...
RAJU: Do you think Bill Pulte has experience to be acting DNI? THUNE: I'll defer to Chairman Cotton COTTON: We have 4 more weeks with Director Gabbard as the DNI RAJU: And Pulte? COTTON: I have no observations on the matter
Figured the whole "it's over" spiel yesterday was a sham That's why we immediately sued 👉https://www.democracydefendersfund.org/prs/06.02.26-pr And we ain't gonna stop until ALL of this abomination is eradicated
The U.S. Justice Department's agreement with President Donald Trump to bar future audits into his or his family's past tax records will remain in place even as his weaponization fund has been put on hold, two sources familiar with the matter said on Tuesday.
Maybe a bad sign that the acting Attorney General of the United States declares that he doesn't want to create any evidence of what he is up to . . .
MENG: Are you going to issue new memo in writing rescinding weaponization fund? BLANCHE: I'm not committing to putting anything in writing. What would the purpose be? M: You established it in writing so it makes sense to rescind it in writing B: Ok. I'm not committing to doing anything in writing
Worth paying attention to this claim and verifying it. If true, it touches on important issues around accountability and how decisions are documented

"Mr. Pelley also wrote that senior managers at CBS News had pressured him to insert bias into stories for “60 Minutes” this past season, though he did not provide details about specific segments." Pretty important part of the story re his firing. Maybe *the* most important part. CBS = new Fox.

Trump’s pick for acting DNI has zero intelligence experience. What he has: a track record of using government power to target Trump’s enemies. By making him acting, no Senate confirmation required. This one matters. joycevance.substack.com/p/if-you-tho...

DEVINE: What do you say to people who claim Netanyahu tricked you into going into Iran? TRUMP: They're the enemy. They're dumocrats. They want transgender mutilization of our children. He tricked me? I'm the one that started it. I'll tell you what- if there wasn't me, there'd be no Israel right now

For more than 30 years, a federal court order has required the prompt release of children in immigration detention. Courts have interpreted that to mean no more than 20 days. The Trump Administration is not only violating that court order, but they are fighting in court to end it entirely.
More than 6,300 children have been detained by ICE during President Trump's 2nd term. 97% have no criminal records.
This is about basic legal accountability. A long standing federal court order exists to prevent prolonged detention of children, yet it’s being challenged instead of upheld. That should concern anyone who cares about the rule of law and human rights

We are witnessing a level of self-enrichment by a president that has never been seen before. Our number one focus right now needs to be on getting relief to American families who continue to face rising costs. They deserve better.

Trump’s illegal, reckless and expensive war in Iran is driving up costs for families and small businesses everywhere—and there’s no end in sight. Trump himself said yesterday “I don’t care” if negotiations to end the war are over. Ridiculous. End the war. End the pain on Main Street.
With gas prices skyrocketing, Americans deserve choices in how they travel. That’s why I’m leading Democrats to fight for a historic investment in world class transit, passenger rail, EV charging, and safe roads for walking and biking.
Trump and Stephen Miller built up a paramilitary force at DHS that they essentially promised immunity, and set it loose on American communities. I'm not going to write a blank check for a federal agency that refuses to distinguish between American citizens and violent criminals.
