1 of 3: The themes from Wicked have had me thinking a lot today. ... yet another school shooting, 2 days after the 12th anniversary of the Sandy Hook tragedy. This time, in my home of 6 years, Madison, WI. The repercussions of how we [fail to] dwell on and respond to "historic" events.

I keep thinking about that scene in Wicked when Dr. Dillamond is teaching the history of Animal rights, and somebody in the class whines, "Why don't you teach us history instead of dwelling on the past?" It feels so on the nose right now.

The holidays are tough... especially in community pharmacies [healthcare + retail = 😨]. I still love this 2023 NIOSH Science Blog: Help for the Holidays: Preventing Fatigue, Violence, and Stress in Retail blogs.cdc.gov/niosh-scienc...

UW Madison School of Pharmacy faculty, staff, & graduate students have approximately 10 presentations and posters at the Academy Health #DIScience24 Conference! Look for our sessions on complex implementation strategies, OTC meds for older adults, a nationally recognized COPD EBP and FRAM modeling.

Let's talk numbers: To date, since Oct 25th, we have found 395,000 Bluesky posts that link to a research paper or other research object that has a scholarly identifier like a DOI, PubMed ID, URN etc This is enormously high for a platform that has only been open since Feb to general sign-ups.

The deep goal of bluesky is to decentralize the social internet so that every individual controls their experience of it rather than having it be controlled by 5 random billionaires. Everyone thinks they signed up for a demuskified twitter...we actually signed an exciting and bizarre experiment.

Op-Ed from @rachelfadler.bsky.social "Teaching accessible design early can help students enter the workforce with a mindset that values inclusivity." 💭 So much of UX is the LACK of accessibility, esp. in healthcare! Excited for future designers with comp sci edu that values inclusivity from start!

My latest op-ed highlights that accessible design should not be an afterthought —it needs to start in K-12 education. thefulcrum.us/inclusion-di... #TheOpedProject @uofilsystem.bsky.social

I saw this and laughed out loud! 🤣 My research looks at Occupational Fatigue (closely related to Burnout 😉) but with my love of Disney, Muppets, AND occupational working conditions, this was too good not to share. [Sorry I couldn’t find the OP to give credit.]

A meme with two panels. The top are the characters from Disney’s Inside Out saying, “A new emotion??!!?” The bottom panel is Pepé the King Prawn from The Muppets with red frazzled hair saying “Hi! I’m burn out!”
