Took an old iPhone USB cable, figured how to step it down from 5v to 3v and light an LED without frying it. A simple thing but I'm quite proud of myself. It means I can light my models from now on using USBs as a power source.

My bored, driving train of thought yesterday came up with a series of Famous Five style books, but instead of thwarting the machinations of horrid working class wrong'uns, they uncover Lovecraftian cults and kid-friendly horrors. Shame I'm not a writer. Probably been done anyway. 😁

Still working my way through the Decade in Tory by Russ Jones. So far the ocean of lies, incompetence, stupidity and corruption have made me want to bang my head on the table but it's so much that after a while you get desensitised and it almost becomes funny, especially the way Russ relates it. 1/2

So that's season one of Babylon 5 rewatched. Much, much better than I remember. I always remember season 1 as being very episodic and having very little arc content but that couldn't be further from the truth. There's a heck of a lot that I really thought came from later seasons. #ukb5watch

Whilst working on the Starfury, I decided to knock one of these out as well. Not my best work. It looks okay from this angle but the silver spray is shit. Still oily and tacky after a week and superglue accelerator reactivates it. The semi gloss on the grips is glossier than most glosses too.

S01E17 Legacies Talia Winters. Where's she been? You'd think that if the Mimbari ship was going to approach the station with its gun ports open, ritualistically, Sinclair would have been briefed. Makes for a good opening cliffhanger, I guess. #ukb5watch

S01E12 By Any Means Necessary Nice to see guest actors and extras dealing with a situation instead of the principle cast for a change. Nice to explore operational conflicts on the station as well. Wouldn't get this on a Starfleet vessel.

Jeanne Gibson, known worldwide as Rosie the Riveter, passed away on 29th July 2026 at the remarkable age of 100. Thank you Jeanne for giving women a symbol of strength when we were told we had none. 💋💪🏻💘

S01E10 Believers How did these folks get to space travel without being able to cure physical ailments? How did they get to Babylon 5 without coming across the concept of surgery? Makes for an interesting science v religion story though I guess. #ukb5watch

Roughing out some Dragonborn Paladins and Warforged Clerics miniatures for the school D&D club. I dislike the fact that Warforged always look the same. They're robots. They should be all different shapes and sizes.

I still fondly remember the one Saturday a long long time ago when I was single and had a good job, that I went into town early, bought a handful of books, came back to my flat, got back into bed and spent the rest of the day reading them.

Just felt like an outdated luddite for the first time. Had to pay a mechanic by logging into my bank account in my phone's browser. 'Do you not have an app?' asked the mechanic. 'No. My kids do but I usually do it on my computer.' I admitted embarrassedly and then crumbled into dust.
