Where might a discerning gamer go in Birmingham of a weekday morning?
I've just discovered SkyBulls, Wind Children and Dragonsnails in Glorantha and I can't stop thinking about them. I must do something with this new found knowledge.
Took an old iPhone USB cable, figured how to step it down from 5v to 3v and light an LED without frying it. A simple thing but I'm quite proud of myself. It means I can light my models from now on using USBs as a power source.
My bored, driving train of thought yesterday came up with a series of Famous Five style books, but instead of thwarting the machinations of horrid working class wrong'uns, they uncover Lovecraftian cults and kid-friendly horrors. Shame I'm not a writer. Probably been done anyway. 😁
All this talk of #Glorantha reminded me that I built the village of #Sandheart in #TinyGlade a while back.
Still working my way through the Decade in Tory by Russ Jones. So far the ocean of lies, incompetence, stupidity and corruption have made me want to bang my head on the table but it's so much that after a while you get desensitised and it almost becomes funny, especially the way Russ relates it. 1/2
So that's season one of Babylon 5 rewatched. Much, much better than I remember. I always remember season 1 as being very episodic and having very little arc content but that couldn't be further from the truth. There's a heck of a lot that I really thought came from later seasons. #ukb5watch
S01E22 Chrysalis Alright. It's the season 1 finale. #ukb5watch So who's the President in the photo? I'm guessing an executive producer? Love the design of SpaceForce One. Ooh. Nice shell-suit Jeff.
I get the OP's point and agree completely. This is actually a really good idea and a possible positive use of the glasses.
If women wore smart glasses, they'd be banned. (soigomaa/x) Think about it. If millions of women wore smart glasses, recording men's behaviour, conversations, comments, their driving & bar chats ... can you imagine the panic? Trust me, smart glasses would be regulated before you can say 'Meta'.
S01E21 The Quality of Mercy Disk 6. Season one, final stretch. Why, yes. I am on holiday. Why do you ask? Oh dear. Poor, innocent Lenier. Bishop Len! Again! #ukb5watch
S01E20 Babylon Squared #Ukb5watch Unusual Tachyon emissions. Very Trek. I actually always preferred B4's design to B5.
Whilst working on the Starfury, I decided to knock one of these out as well. Not my best work. It looks okay from this angle but the silver spray is shit. Still oily and tacky after a week and superglue accelerator reactivates it. The semi gloss on the grips is glossier than most glosses too.
S01E18 A Voice in the Wilderness pt1 #ukb5watch Another story I thought came in a later season. An old friend of Delenn's. He's not going to make it to the end credits. Oh, wait. I remember what happens to him.
S01E17 Legacies Talia Winters. Where's she been? You'd think that if the Mimbari ship was going to approach the station with its gun ports open, ritualistically, Sinclair would have been briefed. Makes for a good opening cliffhanger, I guess. #ukb5watch
S01E16 Eyes A Kawasaki Ninja. Blimey! I remember when they were cool. Ooh! Baby Jeffrey Combs. The Quatermaster guy sounds like Matt Berry. Love the 2035 insect bike. #ukb5watch
S01E15 Grail JF Sebastian!! Bishop Len!! Love the trial for damages against grey alien abductions. Love that their language is crop circle symbols. David Warner!! Blimey! Star-studded. #ukb5watch
S01E14 TKO I've been warned about this one. Let's see. Ivanova laughing at a Harlan Ellison book, Working Without a Net. Obviously an in-joke. #ukb5watch
S01E13 Signs and Portents Half way through season 1 Raiders again. We hate these guys! Mr Morden! Love the RAF theme to the lounge that they're having a conflab in. #ukb5watch
S01E12 By Any Means Necessary Nice to see guest actors and extras dealing with a situation instead of the principle cast for a change. Nice to explore operational conflicts on the station as well. Wouldn't get this on a Starfleet vessel.
Today is my birthday (turning 30), which is the only time each year when I ask you for a repost should you like my art. Have a good day! 🦦🌿✨️ - Simon
Jeanne Gibson, known worldwide as Rosie the Riveter, passed away on 29th July 2026 at the remarkable age of 100. Thank you Jeanne for giving women a symbol of strength when we were told we had none. 💋💪🏻💘
S01E11 Survivors Cobra bays. Great name. There are no robots in B5. It's a shame. They have everything else. #ukb5watch
S01E10 Believers How did these folks get to space travel without being able to cure physical ailments? How did they get to Babylon 5 without coming across the concept of surgery? Makes for an interesting science v religion story though I guess. #ukb5watch
Roughing out some Dragonborn Paladins and Warforged Clerics miniatures for the school D&D club. I dislike the fact that Warforged always look the same. They're robots. They should be all different shapes and sizes.
Plas Glyn-y-Weddw art gallery on the Llyn Peninsula on one of the nicest days of our holiday so far.
I still fondly remember the one Saturday a long long time ago when I was single and had a good job, that I went into town early, bought a handful of books, came back to my flat, got back into bed and spent the rest of the day reading them.
Just felt like an outdated luddite for the first time. Had to pay a mechanic by logging into my bank account in my phone's browser. 'Do you not have an app?' asked the mechanic. 'No. My kids do but I usually do it on my computer.' I admitted embarrassedly and then crumbled into dust.
S01E09 Deathwalker It's weird seeing Kosh interacting normally with other folks. He looks, frankly, ridiculous. He works better being surrounded by dry ice and being portentous and inscrutable. #ukb5Watch
