I disagreed with most of Lindsey Graham’s positions, especially on federal authority over health policy. But disagreement doesn’t erase the fact that a long public career ended abruptly. A death in office disrupts the work, and it’s still a human loss. #senate

The Supreme Court keeps stretching executive power, and everyone’s pretending it’s a normal plot point. In theater, when a character grabs authority that isn’t in the script, the audience reacts. Government should expect the same instead of demanding calm. *We are the audience. Reacting.

We’ve built cities for a climate that no longer exists, and we’re pretending shade is optional. An unscientific yet reliable, barometer of uncomfortable heat is when children complain. As a child we loved hot days--but not of this extreme. I hear children complain at 10:00 AM. #climate

I was young the first time the news disturbed me and how fortunate for me my great-grandmother was alive. "Oh Allie, I am so sorry. None of this is new. Your parents think they discovered injustice. [she cackled] Hardship and cruelty are constants best combated, not by outrage, but love."

Israel fired on civilians who attempted to collect the bodies of victims in South Lebanon. Israel has claimed those civilians are "terrorists". This disgusting military has no shame.

In our current crisis, I return again and again to the observation institutions mistake continuity for stability. A system can run on habit long after it’s lost the capacity to solve the problems it was built for. Personally, I feel we are shackled. #Change
