Moderate (50%) chance for development this week. Moisture moving into the Gulf could form into a system. Land interaction combined with moderate upper level wind shear will give this system a challenge though. Parts of the western #Gulf Coast can anticipate some rain at least. #wx

May 15 is the official start of the East Pacific Hurricane Season. A strong El Niño is forecast which will play a key role in hurricane activity for the Atlantic & Pacific. El Niño favors #hurricane activity in the central and eastern Pacific, and suppresses it in the Atlantic. #wx
