Tropical Depression Two is expected to become a tropical storm later today and bring impacts across the Gulf Coast this week, including tropical storm conditions, storm surge and heavy rain. Always remember: even "just a tropical storm" can bring a lot of trouble. TT

After impacting the Marianas, Typhoon Bavi is now headed towards the Yaeyama and Miyako islands, then Taiwan, then eventually mainland China. While not at the intensity that it had while hitting Guam and Northern Marianas, it will still be a dangerous typhoon. TT

Meanwhile, Guam and CNMI have spent the Independence Day making preparations for a category 5 super typhoon Bavi. A typhoon warning is now in effect for Guam, Rota, Tinian and Saipan. The impacts will begin on Sunday. TT
