WIP first try at a paint scheme for Ossuary Jane's Bone-Takers. They paint their cars in neon animal print to mimic the irradiated beasts they hunt. I chose blue and orange for the high contrast, not realizing it's Hot Wheels colors. I'm feeling good about this direction. #diecast #Gaslands

Once again, I've fallen so in love with a build meant for someone else that I've decided to build one for me. Only this time it's not one, it's ELEVEN. I suppose I don't need to use ALL the Bone Shakers in my collection for the hunt pack. I plan on painting them in individual animal prints.

#Diecast Collection Update I've acquired five releases of the Time Attaxi, there are seven more to go. Eight, if you count the to-be-released Joker version for the Batman Silver Series. It's still fun finding these cars in the wild, though the latest one was an eBay purchase. Those are less fun.

I'm going to collect the #HotWheels Time Attaxi. It's got great character from the rear opening door to the front intercoolers and HK taxi styling. I've been collecting the '68 Custom Camaro and Mod Speeder, but those are small #diecast ranges. At least I'm not trying to collect Bone Shakers.

#Diecast Mail Call! Another Time Attaxi for my collection, got the 2017 HW City Works release. This one was featured in the game, "Need for Speed: No Limits" Found this on eBay while I was searching for a special car for my daughter. After shipping, I paid $5 for this one. It's getting pricey.

Nice end to a long day, got another Time Attaxi for my collection. Found the HW Getaways 5-Pack (2024) at the supermarket. It was double the cost of 5-packs at but box retail, but I'm not complaining. Still only about $2.50 per car Worth it to add to my fleet.

Today's #diecast are #Matchbox first responder trucks. This is another category that I think they do better than Hot Wheels. The scale problem is what it is with mainline toys, but Matchbox does a good job with embiggenning 4x4 trucks.

Today's #diecast continues to feature #Matchbox working vehicles of various vintages. The two Dodge pickups are classic work trucks. The two white pickups will be my "Pump 'n' Dump" team, once I add a pump to the empty bed. Finally, the Fire Engine and Poop King are out of scale for #Gaslands.

From where it started, to where it ended. The #Gaslands Open started out as a way to de-dupe my collection. Now, I run a regular demo, have given away many cars and tonight I have finished the last ones. There are now four groups of 12, one for each Sponsor. I'm ready to move onto my next project.

I generally try to avoid getting duplicate #diecast. But, still end up with a few because of gifts and forgetfulness. So, what if I convert these twins for a #Gaslands demo game at the diecast meet. Machine guns only, easy track and Death Race scenario. Winner of each match keeps their demo car.

Finished black lining and white highlights on the Subaru BRZ and Toyota Supra. I think it works well enough. Highlights might be a little too chunky. And black lines lost on the metallic body paint. Next time, I'll use cars with flat paint like the Honda Civic.

Heading to the beach first thing in the morning and the Motor Manga continues to sit on the hobby bench. They're the last #Gaslands Open team to be finished. I'm sure I can finish then next week. Got my beach cars selected, the Surf Crate and the Surf 'N Turf, along with a pair of toothy friends.

Today's #diecast are a pair of cars separated by 25 years, the #HotWheels #Ferrari 365 GTB/4 and the Ferrari 365 GTB4 Competizione are the road and the racing versions of the same car. They are also from different eras of Ferrari licensing at Hot Wheels. The differences in #casting are interesting.

This weekend, the Gaslands Open demo game will be Annihilation Alley! Race through all gates and cross the checkered line in one piece! The obstacle course will test your handling skills! Auto-turrets will blast away at anyone within range! Plus giveaway prize cars and build kits!

Today's #diecast are both in a lovely shade of orange and from the 2026 Compact Kings series. The '72 Datsun Sunny Coupe is a new casting designed by Phil Riehlman and the Datsun 620 is designed by Jun Imai.

Finally heading home. It was a good work trip and I found some really great #diecast. But, I'm ready to get back. These two fidget friends helped me to chill during downtime. The Flippin Fast is a fidget spinner and the Click Shift has silent and audible clickers.

Gonna need a bigger carry-on I'm finding #diecast that's not so easy to find in my usual hunting grounds. Including my first #TeamTransport! I don't usually get Premiums, but I really dig late 60s Camaros. I guess it'll be easier to pack in my bag if I free it from the packaging.

Today's #diecast is the capstone of my collecting while in this trip. I read "Cursed Earth" in Judge Dredd before learning about the Matchbox Raider Command K-2001 (1977). I wanted one, but figured I'd never find one. I found this one at a collectibles store while looking for loose Hot Wheels.

Today's #diecast are a pair of vintage Hot Wheels that are the closest I have to Indy racecars. The Formula 5000 ,(1976 Flying Colors) and the Lickety Six (1978 Flying Colors) are classic castings designed by Larry Wood. It is cars like these that really helped to establish the Hot Wheels identity.

Didn't quite meet the goal for this week. The Motor Manga team didn't get any work done. Got a busy week ahead of me, hope to get to them soon.

The goal this week is to finish the last of the teams for the #Gaslands Open. Did some prep work during lunch hour and primed the last two Ne-On (formerly Colorfast) and matte sprayed four Motor Manga. Together with the last two DCon Crew (WIP name). Also primed my 3rd try at black on black painting

WHEN THE LIGHTS GO OUT... THE HUNT BEGINS. Forget chrome. Forget camouflage. Team Ne-On was built to own the night. Wrapped in searing neon circuitry and blazing under blacklight, these machines don't just race through the wasteland. They burn across it like high scores on an arcade cabinet.

WIP Team Ne-On for the #Gaslands Open. Fluorescent paints are so thin and the application of multiple coats is very tedious. I'm never fully satisfied with the results, though they do look good under UV lighting.

This has taken the wind from my sails. I've held six #Gaslands demos and only a handful of kids have ever played. I enjoy being at the meets and I love giving away the cars. But, I can't seem to get any adults interested in playing. The meet moves back indoors in Oct. Maybe it'll get better then.
