A big win for science and sustainable farming in the EU! “Today’s vote in support of New Genomic Techniques is a long overdue step toward more sustainable farming in the EU,” said WePlanet’s Agriculture Policy Lead, Hidde Boersma.
Today we will learn if the EU actually supports sustainable agriculture and food security, or whether they only engage in lip service. We call on MEPs to support the NGT legislation to avoid more delays and uncertainty for farmers, researchers, breeders, and innovators across Europe.

After over two years of negotiations the EU Parliament's ENVI committee will vote on the New Genomic Techniques (NGTs) file. We've been there since the beginning advocating for NGTs to improve EU sustainability & food security.
