Lunchtime at the Pietermaritzburg Oval, in the 3rd 50 over match. After winning the toss and electing to bat first, the SA Emerging side has scored 228. Not a bad total considering they were 30-5 at one point. Faye Tunnicliffe turning the tide with her century, 116 off 95.

Match had over 60 000 views, which makes it the most watched women's match on CSA's Youtube channel in the last 5 years. Too bad more people can't watch it; the video is blocked due to a content match (I presume music played at the oval).
Halfway mark in the 2nd 50 over match between SA Emerging Women and Bangladesh Emerging Women. SA bowled out for 256, Alex Candler the only player to pass 50, with her 85(107).

Spent the last two months building a statistical archive of South African women's provincial cricket. And honestly, it fokken sucked at times. Felt like I spent more time creating the missing puzzle pieces than putting the puzzle together.

The SA Women's Under-19 team has won the 5th t20 by 17 runs on DLS method, after rain interrupted the chase. They win the series 3-2.
Pakistan Under-19 won the 4th t20 match by 6 wickets. The SA Under-19 could not get any meaningful partnerships under way, resulting in the below par total. Series stands at 2-2, with the final match scheduled for Friday.
Came across this very 'Fairbreak' looking squad: Seven different countries represented.
SA Emerging squad for the Bangladesh inbound tour have been announced. As somewhat expected Yasmeen Khan has been added to the squad. Players I would have liked to see: Relebohile Mkhize, Fay Cowling and Izel Cilliers, but still a strong squad.
A much better performance from the SA Under-19 team today. Mieke van Voorst with the team's first 50 of the series. Daneli Boshoff scored 27 runs off the 19th over. Two wickets each for Respect Mabasa, Miya Lalor and Melissa van der Merwe.
Pakistan Under-19 won the second t20 by 47 runs. Much better performance from Pakistan. The SA team struggled a lot against the left-arm pacers.
I would not be surprised if CSA silently added Potchefstroom as a stand-by venue for the 2027 Men's world cup, in order for it to host the "super series" qualifier farce.
The SA Women's Under-19 team have won the first t20 match against Pakistan by 4 wickets, with 4 overs remaining.
First time since 28 March 2019 that Anneke Bosch has bowled a full 10 over allotment in a List A match. 2-45 is also her best List A figures as an off-spinner.
The SA Women's Under-19 team will be heading to Pakistan next month for a five match Youth T20i series. All matches will be played at Karachi and will be day-night matches.
Turns out preparations for the 2027 Cricket World Cup is not going as well as CSA would like people to think.
Cricket World Cup Oversight
A parliamentary committee meeting about the 2027 Cricket World Cup raised serious questions. Almost nobody noticed.

Nice to see Anneke Bosch signing for Essex for the rest of the season.
The Titans had a rough time at the 2026 WJPL, ending last in the comp. Mamushi won the tournament for the second year in a row.
The Proteas Women will start next season with a 5 match T20i series against Zimbabwe, as announced today by CSA. Every match scheduled to be played at QSC in Bulawayo.
The Lions are the first team confirm their 2026/27 squad: Changes from the previous season: Leani Swanepoel and Keamogetswe Chuene recieve their first contracts. Karabo Meso moves on to a CSA contract. No transfers in the off-season for the Lions.
So CSA screwed up big time this week, so badly they had to make another media release today. In short: Tickets for the 26/27 season opened on Monday. Tickets for the Newland new year's test sold out in minutes. Many tickets never went on sale.
So according to this page on the Club Cricket SA site, the domestic transfer period ends tomorrow. They show two transfers, but the number of signings confirmed by the teams so far: dololo.

I find it interesting how they've framed the return of Ismail and van Niekerk. Not as two of South Africa's best ever returning to strengthen the team, but as possible disruptors to the environment.
On the CRICKETher Weekly: * New Zealand’s middle order show up to the party in Cardiff * Blaze dominate the One Day Cup * World Cup squads: Kirstie Gordon returns to Scotland, South Africa return to 2010 & Australia back themselves into a corner over King
After the announcement of Bangladesh Emerging inbound tour to SA, I had a look at women’s Emerging/A-team tours involving the four Test-playing nations from 2024 to 2026:
Pierre de Bruyn appointed head coach of the Dutch women's national team. Unlikely that he'll do double duty, so the Titans will be in the market for a new coach for their women's team.
Fixtures announced for the Bangladesh Emerging tour of South Africa.
Adding Ismail, Kapp and van Niekerk to a squad that won 4-1 against India...
Over the weekend I had a look at which South African women are currently at overseas clubs. Still a few leagues that are yet to start, so the list will likely expand a bit:
Nice to see CSA pulling out the classics today: Postponing the Proteas squad announcement at the last minute due to "a need for further internal reviews"
