Pioneer Day: A complicated occasion, as is any instance of displacement & additional settlement to an inhabited land. There were violent conflicts as well as peaceful coexistence among communities. I wish people could acknowledge both aspects w/o being ignorantly proud or dismissively contemptuous
The discourse around IMAX re: Nolan movies is silly imo. A far greater issue is the sound in his films, which for years has been garbage

Technically skilled masters of their textile crafts, they opposed wealthy industrial speculators who forced workers (including children) to give up control over their future and toil in Blake’s “dark satanic mills.” In this AI moment, we can learn a lot from them.
