MobLand – Season 2, Episode 4: Blank Curtain (2026) – Review

Episode 4 delivers criminal tension that widens every fracture in the Harrigan empire while showcasing why this series remains essential viewing. The episode picks up immediately in the chaotic aftermath of Frankie Cooper’s devastating helmet bomb at Kevin’s yard, the blast that claimed Dog’s life and left the family scrambling. Harry Da Souza once again steps into his role as the indispensable fixer, orchestrating a careful cover up so that the explosion appears to be nothing more than a gas leak.

Below – Season 1, Episode 1: Come Home Year (2026) – Review

I've always fancied a bit of aquatic horror ever since first watching Jaws at a formative age, so the notion of Netflix putting out a six-episode show involving some sort of water-dwelling beastie struck a particular nerve with me. While I know that yet another instance of having a burly, ocean-faring predator prey on the folks and finances of a close-knit community is hardly the most revelatory thing to come along, there's something about shows and movies that choose to swim in the wake of Steven Spielberg's flawless classic that I find utterly irresistible.

The Terminal List – Season 1, Episode 5: Disruption (2022) – Review

The fifth episode of The Terminal List delivers a gripping hour of television that locks you into James Reece’s relentless pursuit with a mix of hard hitting revelations and pulse pounding action. From the opening frames, you are dropped into the chaos of Najaf in 2007, where Reece and his team push against orders into a heavily defended stretch of the city to reach a downed Kiowa.

Carrie – Season 1, Episode 2: Foreign Language (2026) – Review

As we get into the second of the four episodes Mike Flanagan has directed during Carrie's run, we already start to see evidence of dark forces pushing in on the titular teen and those caught in her orbit. But I'm not just talking about the threats caused by bullying someone with burgeoning, telekinetic powers (although that's certainly a prominent issue), I'm actually talking about the fact that my fears that eight episodes may have been a tad too ambitious for book as lean and mean as Stephen King's Carrie could be coming true.

The Eye (2008) – Review

Ah yes, the 2000s - where horror remakes were plentiful and a fair few of them failed to match the original. Regardless of your personal feelings concerning genre do-overs that saw everyone from celebrated horror icons to the killer from Prom Night getting shiny new reduxes, the glut of J-Horror that were getting American remakes proved to be fairly alarming.

Last Seen – Season 1, Episode 6: The Choice (2026) – Review

The Choice stands as a perfect culmination of everything the series has carefully built across its run. This finale refuses easy resolutions and instead delivers a profound examination of identity, grief, love, and the messy reality of what recovery actually means after years of absence and deception. The episode opens in the immediate aftermath of chaos with Henry racing toward his father’s remote religious compound.

Carrie – Season 1, Episode 1: First Period (2026) – Review

Was the world really in dire need of yet another adaptation of Carrie? It's a fair question, especially since the very first crack at Stephen King's debut novel ended up being Brian De Palma's undisputed classic that set the bar for virtually every King adaptation since. However, while we've had a random sequel, a failed TV pilot and a glossy, 2013 remake, it seems that the one-man King adapting machine we know as Mike Flanagan wants to take another shot at the eponymous telekinetic - which raises a few more alarm bells.

Slow Horses – Season 6, Episode 4: Lost And Found (2026) – Review

Slow Horses continues to deliver some of the sharpest writing and most compelling character work on television in its sixth season, and Lost And Found continues the show's expertise at sustained tension blended with it trademarked dark humour and ability to shock. This episode tightens the screws on every major player while advancing the season’s two conspiracies with efficiency and style.

Verity (2026) – Review

Well, it's been quite the Hatha-year for Anne Hathaway, hasn't it? Returning to work for a tyrannical Meryl Streep in The Devil Wears Prada 2, portraying a flamboyant pop star with issues in Mother Mary, waiting for Matt Damon to come home in The Odyssey, or fighting dinosaurs in The End Of Oak Street, it seems like the actress has truly done it all this year.

MobLand – Season 1, Episode 10: The Beast In Me (2025) – Review

The season finale of MobLand delivers a near perfect close to the first chapter of this gripping crime saga. It weaves together the simmering family betrayals, the bloody gang war, and the personal reckonings that have defined the series into a taut hour of television. The episode opens in the aftermath of Kevin Harrigan’s confrontation with his former prison tormentor Alan Rusby.

Digger (2026) – Review

Big swings are something of a rarity in this day and age. In these times of fluctuating box office and studio buy-outs, the idea of taking tonal and narrative risks are coming exceedingly rare as money men grow incredibly anxious about seeing a return on their investment. Well, it seems that no one told Alejandro G. Iñárritu, who wades into the box office maelstrom with Digger, a caustic, shouty, anti-comedy that alternates big, unsubtle performances with teeth-jarring tonal shifts and some increasingly depressing themes.

The Terminal List – Season 1, Episode 4: Detachment (2022) – Review

Detachment digs deeper into James Reece’s path of vengeance and the web of corporate and military interests that keep pulling him forward. Chris Pratt continues to carry the weight of this character proving he has more range as an actor than people think. By this point in the season Reece is fully off the grid, dealing with the aftermath of the ambush that wiped out his team, the murders of his wife and daughter, and the growing evidence that something far bigger than a simple failed operation is at play.

Lanterns – Season 1, Episode 8: Stars And Dirt (2026) – Review

Well, it's time to flick the lights off on Lanterns for now as we've finally reached the final episode of its eight episode run. It's been something of an impressive ride, especially as - for the most part - the show has focused more on the "cop" part of the space cop nature of the classic comic book character than it has on large-scale cosmic drama.

Passengers (2016) – Review

Just because you have a good concept for a film, it doesn't mean that your finished movie is immediately guaranteed to work. Obviously you have to follow the idea to its logical conclusion, while ensuring that the various themes and morals remain steadfast, but if the story takes a wrong path, it can be disastrous for the finished product. If you need a handy example to help explain futher, you'd be hard pressed to find a better one than 2016's sci-fi "romance", Passengers.

Scouts Guide To The Zombie Apocalypse (2015) – Review

As versatile creatures as they are, there's something about zombies that makes them perfect foils for comedy. Shambling, clueless beasts at the best of times, their easy-to-dissemble nature makes them prime candidates for some messy slapstick and their slow pace is perfect to allow the human leads to utter any number of quips, punchlines or wise cracks before they find themselves within biting range.

The Terminal List – Season 1, Episode 3: Consolidation (2022) – Review

Episode 3 of picks up right where the previous one left off and digs deeper into the mess surrounding James Reece. Chris Pratt continues to carry the weight of this role with a quiet intensity that is not normally associated with him . You can see the exhaustion in his eyes and the way he moves like a man who has already decided the only way forward is through the people who wronged him.

This series has had you gripped by the tangled web of London crime families, the Harrigans and the Stevensons, from the start and this epiode feels like the moment the whole thing kicks into a higher gear. The personal and the professional bleed into each other so completely that you start questioning every alliance you thought you understood. The Hunger Games: Catching Fire (2013) – Review

We've discussed the trials and tribulations of building a better sequel here before; but how do you follow a story like The Hunger Games and not repeat yourself? Numerous follow-ups have played the "oh no, not again" card in order to offset a similar reaction from audiences - Hell, Die Hard 2 made John McClane's disbelief that he was in yet another terrorist situation part of the ad campaign - but there was always a feeling that author Suzanne Collins and the filmmakers behind The Hunger Games: Catching Fire were in danger of getting caught between a rock and a hard place.

The Terminal List – Season 1, Episode 2: Encoding (2022) – Review

Episode 2 of The Terminal List picks up in the immediate, devastating aftermath of the events that closed the premiere and wastes little time establishing the emotional and narrative stakes that will drive the rest of the season. Where the first episode delivered high-octane combat and a shocking personal tragedy, this follow-up shifts into a more intimate, paranoia-laced mode of storytelling that prioritises character psychology and the slow assembly of a conspiracy.

Bonzo Goes To Bitburg is an episode deliberately designed to make you feel uncomfortable and then hits you with a gut punch. SOULM8TE (2026) – Review

Oh hey, anyone remember when it seemed like M3GAN was going to take over the world? Not in an AI, crush, kill, destroy sort of way like the movies suggested, but more in a way that hinted that the Tiktok dancing, ear-ripping lil' Terminator would become even more of a household name once M3GAN 2.0 hit in 2025. However, it seems that one thing that can stop the advancement of maurauding AI is poor box office, and after 2.0 halted the rise of the titular 'bot, it seemed that M3GAN's ascent had been halted just as quick as it began.
