Love somebody. Make them food. Wife and I married 37 years. We try to laugh about something every day. Columbus, Ohio USA.

At Poll Worker training there was a discussion about handling credentialed observers. Me: What about ICE? Trainer: get their name and agency and call the Board of Elections. Me: So I can't just say "GTFO"? Trainer: get their name and agency and call the BOE Me (thinking): oh poop

Simple-ish dinner of Canellini puree (lots of garlic) on Sourdough Toast with chopped olives, sundried tomato and chili crisp. Chopped cilantro and freshly grated Parmesan. ๐Ÿฝ๏ธ๐Ÿœ

After a weekend of keeping the puppy and myself amused, I made my sweetie a fun return home dish. Beef Braciole (stuffed beef bundles) served over Polenta. My plating and polenta cake game needs some work, but excellent flavor. ๐Ÿฝ๏ธ๐Ÿœ

College Football Saturday so made Dr. Pepper Ribs. Marinated in DP overnight then sliced, rubbed and smoked over Cherry. Braised in more DP, butter, brown sugar and a little wing sauce. Finished brushing with Sweet Heat sauce thinned with DP. Yum ๐Ÿฝ๏ธ๐Ÿœ #BBQmunity #CFB

NGL I stared at the 1kg $49 can of Luxardo cherries for a really long time trying to decide if we could drink enough cocktails before they went bad. I wrote off the 3kg can for $109 just out of this pic. ๐Ÿธ

Pretty lucky to have a spouse that can mix cocktails and arrange flowers with equal flair. Fall Old Fashioned with a syrup of apple cider, cinnamon, clove and allspice. One of three flower arrangements made with about $25 worth of Trader Joe's stems. ๐Ÿฝ๏ธ๐Ÿœ๐Ÿธ๐Ÿ’

Frozen Pizza Adventures: Sexed up Kirkland Cauli Crust with pepperoni, fried chicken tenders, 3 kinds of cheese, and balsamic glaze. #1 at her Birthday Club and I may or may not have consumed most of a bottle of Napa Zin before and while eating this. ๐Ÿœ๐Ÿฝ๏ธ๐Ÿ•

Discovery of an urgent Ricotta expiration date led my spouse to make Polenta Lasagna on short notice. Used loaf pans so we could freeze for future. Two kinds of Italian sausage, spinach and mushrooms. No noodles, fully GF! ๐Ÿœ๐Ÿฝ๏ธ

Polenta lasagna in a shallow bowl. Harder to keep shape getting it out of a loaf pan though.Three loaf pants of polenta lasagna. One to be cooked and two to be put in the freezer

Well it was Monday, Louisiana steam bath weather outside, some laundry was done - Might as well have Red Beans and Rice. Used chicken andouille sausage and fresh out of Abita beer to go with, but still tasty. ๐Ÿœ๐Ÿฝ๏ธ

One of our fav simple dishes: Baked Salmon and Rice. Peas, grilled corn, and feta on the side. (The fish on the right is actually Tilapia because I mis-led my spouse on how much salmon was in the freezer. My bad. ๐Ÿคฆ) ๐Ÿœ๐Ÿฝ๏ธ

Loved the ground pork burgers, so back to Farm Mkt to see my pork sensei. She suggested the smoked pork chops. TBH they were a bit too 'hammy" in texture for me but good and just $9/pair. Corn picked the day before. Chared, cut & tossed with butter& seasonings. #BBQmunity ๐Ÿœ๐Ÿฝ๏ธ
