Oh, one final thing I snagged in Chicago. I found a box of the new blind packaged "Godzilla Scramble" figures... dumb little Godzilla toys that transform into vague egg shapes. They all have bizarre paint jobs, and I got the two I wanted: Hamburger Godzilla and Aloha Shirt Godzilla.
While in the Chicagoland area, the family and I also got a chance to check out the super-rad Pokémon Fossil Museum at the Field Museum.
Just got back from visiting the family in Illinois. Found some important reading material in my old room.

The box office totals for each of these is going to dip lower and lower as each subsequent one is released. Not necessarily because the movies are gonna get worse as they go, but because the only people who would care about them are gonna start dying off.

It's weird how the new Avengers trailer ends on a dramatic character reveal that would only work if they hadn't already dramatically revealed that character in a teaser trailer months ago. The scene is framed for maximum crowd gasps, but the reveal comes and it's all, "Yeah, we know."
Yeah, that "NOOO!" got a big reaction in my theater. Everyone was giving an eye-rolling chuckle when Malfoy does the hokey "get your stinking paws off me" callback, but then there was a loud, simultaneous gasp and the theater shut right up.

The guy two seats down from me could barely choke out a “holy shit…” It was absolutely perfect! Like it matched the legend Lawgiver would later write in the Sacred Scrolls.
seeing udon comics news on the timeline makes me think about that time their director of publishing, matt moylan, tried to take a public stand against "dei" in street fighter and subsequently got battered so hard on 2025 twitter that his mouth imploded and popped out the back of his neck
I picked this up at the Sunshine City Donguri Kyowakoku store this past February (that translates to Acorn Republic... it's the Studio Ghibli store). Finally got around to hanging it up. The thing's about 9" tall, and its fairly larger box ate up a lot of luggage space, but it was worth it.
I couldn't tell you how many times I checked this book out of the library as a kid.

It bums me out that a lot of tie-in cereals these days are simply collabs and not, like, custom jobs with original cereal/marbit shapes, but I'll take what I can get. Very curious about the peach mango Lucky Charms, and I'm REALLY hoping the "secret" Cinnamon Toast Crunch flavor is cola.

Finally got around to watching the first few episodes of My Adventures with Superman season 3. I'm delighted that the series seems to have taken a hard turn into "what if we let Rumiko Takahashi make a Superman?" territory.
Maybe not a hot take, but 16-bit Konami is my Platonic ideal for video game aesthetics. If you were to ask me, "Think of a video game," this is the sorta thing that would pop into my head.
