Fermentorium and Kyro malted ryes being poured by @distilling-wisdom.com tonight. Very different, the Canadian is grainy and like an old grain bin on the nose, the palate is more chocolate, rye bread and dusty grain. The Finnish is sweeter, more herbal and fruitier. #rye

Picked up this travel retail Black Art Sapero so seeing how it stacks up against the OG 19. The OG is richer, more icing sugar, prune juice, poached pears. The NG is still very nice but not quite as complex, nuttier, saltier with pink grapefruit on the finish. #whisky

The Indri is quite nicely balanced with a bit of sulphur and sherry but not too much. The Silkie is very sweet with an astringent undertone which I can't get on with. #whiskey

Looking forward to trying Silkie on a fresh palate. And a 1l PC10 because it was there.

Sometimes I take whiskey too seriously, so today is all about remembering that it’s just a really tasty beverage. I wouldn’t recommend the 40% ones neat, sweet & simple. Still, better than vodka or gin 😉🤣 The other two are have some citrus & spice to balance them out a little. #blendedscotch

Don’t sleep on American Single Malts. I’m not a fan of Balcones bourbon, rye and rum but I really like their single malts. Stranahans moved the game on for me. Lots of ASM was virgin oak and it showed, theirs was the first I had that was beautifully finished. Another pair tomorrow. #whisky

This is right up my street. Smoky bacon and blue cheese, then add water and you get effervescent, fresh fruit. Again, neck pours so may be unrepresentative of the final dram. #whisky
