Dinorwic Quarry Hospital served the local miners in Llanberis, north Wales. Built in 1860, this small hospital was at the cutting edge of medicine, with new practices, equipment and procedures being used/carried out, within a year or so of their introduction. 1/2
I keep seeing "advice" given that says a dash for the maiden name on the GRO on-line birth index means there is no father named on the entry. NO, it means there is no maiden name recorded for the mother, no more, no less. A father's details could be there .. #Genealogy #CivilRegistration #GetItRight
