The walk without your phone. The stretch while the coffee brews. The slow dance in your kitchen. None of these is fitness. All of them count.
What if movement wasn't something to conquer — but something to feel? No metrics. No performance. No guilt about skipping the gym. Just your body, moving, reconnecting.
Stress isn't just psychological. It lives in your muscles, your posture, your breathing. Movement helps complete the stress cycle — it signals to your nervous system that the threat has passed. That's not fitness. That's recovery.
You don't need an intense workout to feel better. 5-10 minutes of low-pressure movement can shift your mood, regulate your breath, and discharge stress your nervous system has been holding. Movement doesn't have to be earned.
Teachers live in their heads. Planning ahead. Reading the room. Managing 27 emotional states at once. Meanwhile your shoulders are up around your ears and you haven't noticed. Your body has been keeping score all year.

Teachers hold everything together for 180 days. Summer is when the bill comes due. Give yourself 10 minutes to write down everything still running in the background. Not to fix it. Just to see it.
One question worth sitting with this summer: "What thoughts have been living rent-free in my head — and do they still deserve to stay there?" Not every worry that follows you home deserves a long-term lease.
Summer doesn't quiet your mind automatically. The worries, the replays, the unfinished thoughts — they follow you home. Write it all down. Don't organize it. Just get it out. You'll be surprised how much lighter you feel.
