Sparks of Tomorrow is the result of a unique director reframing a romcom pitch to incorporate the unusual stylistic & thematic links that only a brilliant weirdo would make. That *could* risk being too self-serious, but the show's simple romanticism is so wrapped up in his madness that it's a blast
