I know this is possibly an odd thing to say but if I’m going to have a cold, could I please have it when it’s actually cold? Having a cold when it’s hot and muggy enough to make me feel faint is just wrong.
All the people burning up their phone cameras and getting a detatched retina wondering why I'm looking at the shadows of the trees in the car park...
A-B testing time for my old cornet and the new older cornet.
Played the lovely cornet at band this evening and for a 35+ year old horn it’s absolutely amazing.
Oh, was there some sort of eclipse or something? I had no idea because literally no one mentioned it at all.
Can we invite world leaders to the UK to stare at the sun this afternoon?
Today I am testing out the Smith Watkins cornet that I coveted. It’s a 30+ year-old instrument which has been extensively refurbished and plays like it’s much, much younger. As much as it pains me, I really like it, the way it plays and the sound it makes is superb. Oh dear!
Oh. A refurbished ex-Army Smith Watkins cornet from the early 1990s might have happened.

Tomorrow in The Exchange, Sturminster Newton, Dorset there are a set of concerts concluding the 2026 Wessex Band Summer School. Three bands will be playing, the Training Band from 1100 and the Wind Band and the Brass band set up together from 1500. Superb musicians all. Be there or be square.
My £0.02 for the day; football is already sold if “players” are being paid £squillions to play a game.
One of the things I really like at the M3 services is that the Pret does little sachets of Tabasco sauce.
Apparently 154.12.38.225 is no good any more and 4220:12d2:7fa5:2fac:fb45:e775:c03f:efcd is much, much better.
Now, the main question is shall I take a cornet to band camp or should I go for trumpet?
Remote control for TV has lost its mind; one press of volume control sends it to full scale, one press back down goes to zero. This is tiresome.
Cue the Telegraph publishing a story about Marxists in 3, 2, 1…
Ooh, the 23rd of June looks like it might have got close to being A Quite Bad Day.
No, YouTube content producer majoring in Trump content, there is not a meltdown, health collapse, disaster, public stroke, passing out, crashing out, hiding, panic, cold reaction, catastrophe or humiliation. Stop shitposting and just ignore him. Stop inflating everything to epic proportions. Stop.
Now, shall I buy myself a ND-lots filter for the upcoming solar eclipse?
250 years ago England, Netherlands and France had enough and cut off the 13 colonies to leave them to go their own way.
