Over at St Mary’s in Oldberrow for the annual ‘hay’ cut. We always enjoy visiting this site as we get a lovely warm welcome from Jane & David. It don’t take us long to cut & rake the wildflowers & we have several local groups come to collect it to improve their meadows. @bcwarwickshire.bsky.social
Butterfly transect this morning - the roadside site I walk is so crispy, yellow and dry. Just a few plants in flower. Surprised to get 8 species, most abundant was Common Blue with 5 recorded. @ukbms.bsky.social @bcwarwickshire.bsky.social

We were over at Harbury North (SSSI) cutting the meadow to transfer the ‘green hay’ to the new National Rail site just up the track. Hot day for raking but the site was heaving with butterflies! 🦋 😀 Thanks to @nationalrail.bsky.social Simon for transporting the hay & helping! ⭐️
Common Blue in my garden yesterday. Hope today is a butterfly day for everyone 🦋
Just filmed this female Common Blue in the garden enjoying the Birds-foot trefoil. At 1st glance I thought Brown Argus as she was very brown & seemed small but you can see that extra spot on her hindwing as well as no figure of 8. #butterflies #calm @savebutterflies.bsky.social
