My birthday on the 28th was more insects that birds, did see little terns, little owl, & yellow wagtails, but tbh I think I preferred the norfolk hawker! #wildlife

Had to go to cornwall today, so stopped by at Stithians Reservoir and this glossy ibis was showing pretty well! Not much else although briefly saw the white stork on the opposite side of the road whilst driving (no way to view), & a few buzzards, GBBG, grey heron etc.. #cornwallbirds @cbwps.org.uk

A 2-night stay at forest of dean w/ @kieope.bsky.social was well worth it! Ham Wall, Slimbridge, & Pembs also featured. 101 bird sp, top highlights - western reef heron, hawfinch, crane, spotshank, nightjar, LRP, puffin, bittern, spotfly, ruff, red-veined darter, wild boar, & weasel. 13/145 sp seen!

3+ whinchats on dartmoor yesterday! Plus tree pipit, redstart, 3 crossbill, spotfly, 5+ wheatear, 2 treecreeper, & 3 willow warb today, not a bad day on the moors! #devonbirds

June was a good month! First month of driving so makes sense it would be the month we see and hear the most species of birds for the year so far! lots of cool species; storm petrel, WTE, osprey with fish, nightjars, redstart, fritillaries, barn owl fledglings, spoonbills, etc etc #ukbirding

Little clip of the magnificent white-tailed eagle, seen from middlebeare last sunday! 2 osprey, & 1 spotted flycatcher seen too. Corn buntings seen at maiden castle, lulworth skippers seen at dancing ledge, & many marbled whites seen throughout the day! #dorsetbirds #ukbirding

Spent the morning on dartmoor - best birds; redstart, tree pipit, garden warbler, redpoll, nuthatch, treecreeper & yellowhamer Insects provided more fun with high brown, dark green, & silver-washed fritillaries, small heath, large skipper, brown silver-line, keeled skimmer, & golden-ringed dragonfly
