Soz it's been a while for any frontpage updates but I think we're in a position to start iterating again. I've got some designs in the works that outline a general vibe for the future look (because my figma skills are bad 😂) will post them here when it's fleshed out a bit more
Have returned to London for a work trip (having lived there for basically my entire life) and I can't believe how overwhelming and disgusting it is now. So glad I escaped.

If, as an appview, we wanted to distance ourselves from future adversary bsky, how do we offer a sign up flow for new users? What does that look like? Take on the responsibility of a PDS and user management ourselves? Hope 3rd party PDS providers become popular?

Important clarifications here in response to @dustyweb.bsky.social original write up of atproto decentralisation. On the whole, a very balanced respose that acknowledges the limitations of the current system and outlines future goals to offer a more robust individual owned social ecosystem.

This should absolutely not be on the user to do. If an account posts something illegal after I've interacted with it or if they're currently posting something illegal but have posted something innocuous that I'm replying to, the overhead of viewing every profile would just be insane. Awful wording.

Every time I look at frontpage.fyi I'm wondering how many hours we've poured into something that's basically just a glorified CRUD app. Then I look at the underlying infra and I'm reminded that we're not just setting ourselves up to continue that path.
