Good reviews for Toby Alderweireld on MOTD last night. He's done lots of interesting things back home since retirement, including talking lately about heavy homesickness suffered during his career. Even while in England.

Scanning through different stories this morning, I'll admit I did not recognise this man.

Just tuned in the last five minutes to the Jaguars game. Lord above.

Club Bruges do what they didn’t manage last season, to win at La Louvière, who only started playing when they were 3-0 down. Not the most convincing 4-1 win in the end, a good game for Yann Sommer before he gets reunited with his old mates from Inter. #RAALCLU #RALCLU

Back on Pro League duty. Cercle v Anderlecht now, Club Brugge at La Louviere later at 6:15, plus the Walloon Derby* tomorrow lunchtime. All live on DAZN internationally, join us if you can. (*They hate it being called that)

I remember Waterford's last two Cup Finals - watched the 1986 one as a kid on TV, losing 2-0 to Shamrock Rovers to an own goal and one which (probably) didn't cross the line, and commentated on the 2004 one against Longford alongside the late Gene Crotty. These things don't come around often!

Greetings. This is home for the week - the ParaPan-American Powerlifting Championships right alongside the Mexico City F1 circuit. All live on this link for the week. www.youtube.com/@paralympics

That's one of the best Ireland goals scored in many a year. #IRLAUT

Ko Ochiai with a new Asian Games record in winning the 800m, very dominant win for the 20-year-old. He has a distinctive look for sure.

Re-run time at the Asian Games.

Sebastien Pocognoli still unbeaten as Scotland boss.

Union do it again, six wins and a draw to go top, squeezing out Antwerp 2-0. They’ve got problems, four losses in a row, one point from their last five games and they slump to 13th. Mateo Biondic continuing his amazing rise from regional German football. #ANTUSG

Four changes for Antwerp. Union bring back two of their suspended players from Europe midweek in captain Van de Perre and Zorgane. #ANTUSG

They don’t write ‘em like they used to. #TOTP

OMD were always just great. #TOTP

Great control showed by Union in this. Got their lead and made sure to keep it.

Crystal Palace winning big against Lech Poznan and Bournemouth winning at Real Sociedad showing the continuing effect of huge money filtering down through the Premier League. Great achievements for the clubs involved, but are these even shocks anymore?

Nairobi getting the World Athletics Championships is quite sensational. It'll be interesting to see how it goes. High time it went to Africa, and an athletics-mad nation too. Nice to see Munich getting 2031, a history of great athletics Championships.
