💚 Happy World Wildlife Day! 💚 Today, we celebrate the incredible diversity and beauty of all wildlife and the importance of protecting wildlife for future generations. Here's a wee pic of the two orphaned tūī in my care, they're growing up fast.
This orphaned tūī chick has come into my care. Definitely a male given the weight and size. l love rehabbing native birds. They are put together so perfectly, the feathers, the colours etc A joy to behold.
These little beauties (juvenile kingfishers - kōtare) will be released soon.
This juvenile pied cormorant came to me for rehabilitation after being found entwined in fishing line. After some tlc and lots of fish, it's back in the wild where it belongs.
The little swallow fledglings I'm rehabbing are coming along nicely.
