SCOOP: Federal judiciary approves new Supreme Court defender office to help represent indigent defendants at #SCOTUS. Its full-time director will serve as a counterweight to the U.S. solicitor general in federal criminal cases. The first will be former Kagan clerk and SG atty Ashley Robertson.

SCOTUS has neglected the Confrontation Clause, which curates prosecutorial evidence. @willsortman.bsky.social argues that inattention to the reliability of confessions is a jurisprudential oversight, not a feature of constitutional design. californialawreview.org/print/confession-confrontation
