I’m a techy dad (he/him). I do AV conference design for Amazon, very niche job but pretty chill. Svelte fan. I’m dipping my toes in rust & go lately, but nothing serious, like my opinions.

Have ya been held vibe code review hostage yet? Any feedback is pushback which is an escalation? It sucks.

I’m going give neovim another try with focus on a solid AI workflow. I like zed a lot but I fight it here and there. I feel like I just want to stay in the terminal and make a custom workflow Helix is nice, but I find that I want to stay native vim and there is just way more support

Curious how folks keep their code reviews/pull requests so small I’m like starting to do stacked feature branches but I hate having to split up stuff into 3 CRs before its a “done” feature vs here’s the working thing The problem has been building stuff on just main branches solo for 5+ years

I really wished I had more wisdom to navigate the bureaucracy. The silly things I have to deal with because of non-technical leaders trying to get promoted are pushing would never happen if anyone with good taste saw what was happening. I just need way more growth before I’m ready to lead

With cdk, I’ve been leaning into config based design and scaling So now I can generate my infra via configs and its really nice aws pattern. Now thinking I need to create a lambda that generates monitoring alert based on resources deployed so I can keep my scaling fancy. Maybe. Will sleep on it

I find its best to give myself space to think. Swim workout = thinking time. Commute to office = thinking time Should be asleep at 1am = thinking time

I signed up my kids for the ”Trump Account” cause free $1k and easy investing setup, seems like a fine program. But we all know that calling a savings account for children buy your own name is totally Epstein Island level vibes

I’m doing stuff I’ve always wanted with claude now so fast. But I still have trust issues cause it will code in useless stuff or wrong stuff. The problem is over trusting it like tesla autopilot

If you ever need to look at an industry that could use more disruption, look at the AV industry big proprietary hardware players and how horrid their software is. Then how badly they struggle to make use of the cloud this last decade. Now these same poor taste companies will struggle against AI.

Getting a recliner lazy-boy couch while having a 7 month old has been a great choice. The easy recline with sleeping baby on chest then chill with some gaming feels peak millennial parenting.

I hope the non-technical leaders get burned hard when they realize their non-technical managers can’t be trusted to provide accurate data on their vibe code solutions when they don’t even know what git is or how I’d rather have AI review code vs a non-coder

I want the steam machine more than I thought I would even though I have a perfectly fine gaming PC, just the social simplicity of playing games on TV my son likes to watch me play

I thought I was dumb buying ps5 1tb ssd drive in December for $120 I want another 1tb stick & just guess not going to

Finally trying to get my local compute setup with hermes agent. Trying to get into testing some local AI workflows

Society did not prepare us to deal with our aging parents with technology. We in America are seeing our elder‘s wealth vaporized by meta with their scam platform as a service.

I will never forgive facebook/meta for introducing my dad to scammers. They are a cancer on society and millions of vulnerable elders and people will continue to be harmed. Cell phones have also played a huge role. Our “smart” phones are scammer gateways. We need a better mainstream device.

London was pretty great! Way nicer city than Seattle / most US cities. I saw way more young people and children chilling in public places.

AI fails most when someone does not know what they don’t know. Experience is a multiplexer with AI since its easier to drive it and call bs. The skill is to get AI to help you expand your view points and discover what you don’t know. It has limits.

My son (4y) all day: Bye dad, time for you to leave us 😅 Later I predict he’ll say he’s is too sad cause I’m gone, so he needs to sleep with mom 🤣

Going to London for a work trip. 10h flight 🫠 I bought wife pokopia for birthday & my steam deck screen is cracked boo. ipad / kindle it is

You know those memories you look back and replay over and over how you could have done better? Yeahhh made one of those today to keep me up at night
