Writing tabletop games, still listening to Sisters of Mercy, queer af and supporting rioters worldwide. #BLM #TransRights

Hot #DnD tip for new Dungeon Masters: You should probably read the rulebook and do this thing called "planning" your session. I know it's complicated, but that means you already know, like, the name of the place where the adventure is happening and like, the stats for the monsters there.

In one of my campaigns, every single time that my players make an assumption about an enemy's abilities, I make an enemy that has that ability and then I introduce it later. This includes enemies that die in one hit, and enemies that can Counterspell every spell. They still haven't found this out.

Out of the now 20 different #TTRPG artists and publishers I have contacted, whose products I have purchased, not one of them permits the use of the art in the book/patron for the use of streaming a game. So like. Why the fuck did I pay for all this. No seriously, I can't run the game now. Why.

Getting ready to announce a new, free #DnD adventure to be filmed on Thursdays for the month of October! I'm sure that it has nothing to do with an upcoming horror-themed holiday and is just a bunch of fun in the sun to mark the end of summertime! Definitely no flesh-eating plants here! Nope!

I do find it incredibly infuriating and actually pretty damn depressing that even though I spend all this money on #TTRPG books, it is always an unclear legal nightmare for me to find out if I can actually use any of these books' material for a stream. Just an absolute fustercluck every time.

NYT wanted to write a story about "moderate Dems go to war with DSA," looked around, and the best they could find was a *proposal* by Third Way to spend $15M against left candidates. The story is not evidence that *Democrats* and the left hate each other... it's evidence that the NYT hates both.

Just watched The Animatrix again. I can't help but feel that this is where it's all going to end - but that the new lifeforms that take the planet aren't going to bother with the pointless method of using humans as a source of energy. And it will all happen because people don't want more taxes.

Fighting with Libre Office because I can't afford Microsoft/Adobe, and I gotta admit, the glitches here are just so much more stupid. Like, if there's a frame with text in it, and I'm copying and pasting the frame, it pastes the frame, and then the text - twice. Two text boxes. Why. What. How.

Well, it's official - there are no primary care physicians within 30 miles of where I live that accept Medicaid *and* are taking new patients. Which means that this piss rock that is stuck in me is going to need an expensive ER visit to surgically remove instead of a quick and painless procedure.

I have now completed 5 of my #TTRPG campaigns with paid tables, and have 3 more currently running. It's been 5 years of paid GMing and striving to learn more about writing captivating campaigns, and now I can say this with absolute certainty: This job is 90% social skills, 5% math, and 5% improv.

Tonight marks the end of my Thursday campaign. It's been nearly 5 years since I've started playing with these amazing people, but now this chapter in our lives has concluded. They're still in my other groups, but it will be different now that there is no #TTRPG madness every Thursday night!
