The Rowan berries are looking gorgeous. In European, particularly Celtic lore, the wood was used as protection. My favorite is the old tradition of two twigs bound into a cross shape with red thread. Berries in charm bags are also protective. Do any of you use Rowan? #witchsky

This is my sunrise this morning because of wildfires. I'm thinking of all those affected, those who have lost their homes, and the wildlands we love. It's time for mutual aid and witchcraft to support each other and create change. #WitchSky
Just in time for Lammas, I found the tiniest baby acorns ever. I like collecting all the sizes as they grow. I place them in a spiral around a candle to encourage my projects to grow. I'm also experimenting with using the tiny acorns to spark ideas. Do any of you use acorns magically? #WitchSky
The U.S. phobia against anything that isn't protestant appearing is disturbing and offensive. My neighborhood Buddhist temple was celebrating Obon, with many happy people, and I overheard a woman say "What's going on there? Isn't that place like a Heavensgate cult or something?" #WitchSky
Yesterday I was absorbed in following a wildfire in an area I loved. I missed #Caturday, so I designate today Catfunday. Mr. Kitten always enjoys sorting laundry!
Good morning #witchsky & bluesky friends. A very blessing filled Lammas/Lughnasadh to those who celebrate, and even if you don't, may all your harvests be wonderful. Colette
I sometimes make a very simple corn dolly from large blades of grass for my altar. But I do a lot with Kitchen Witchery. Maybe I'll make Blackberry cordial or a crisp this weekend.
#FolkWitchFriday: Handcrafted Harvest 🌽 From corn dollies and masks to woven grain, harvest rites rely on physical craft. What ritual tool or object do you make or use for this tide? Show or tell us about the crafted pieces anchoring your seasonal work! #WitchSky #FolkWitch #FolkMagic #Folklore
I did fire tower work for a few summers at Flag Point. It's burning now, 💔 along with a separate fire to the south at Warm Springs that is taking people's actual homes. Fire is a natural part of the ecosystem, but climate change has made it something different. photos @karlpeterson.bsky.social
I posted a new blog! If you want to know more, check it out. In European regions and some of the Mediterranean, the day began at sunset rather than dawn. Wishing you all a great Lughnasadh Eve if you celebrate. #WitchSky goldenwebmysteryschool.com/witchcraft-m...

I used the culminating energy of the full moon to strain out my devotional Rose offering cordial and my Everyday Protection Spray. Ingredients in alt text.
Happy Full Moon witches. I'm going to keep it simple tonight and probably just light a candle at moonrise. Do any of you have any magic you are doing? #Witchsky
In this week's video, I share one of the ways to create a Lammas or Lughnasadh ritual. I'm exploring ritual planning with ideas for beginner and intermediate witches. Plus, altar ideas, seasonal symbolism, offerings, and ways to celebrate for solo or group witches #WitchSky youtu.be/AmFbyrCWrz4

Happy Sunday! When out for my daily walks at this time of year I'm always keeping my eye out for tree treasures. Miniture acorns, or small fans of green leaves. This gift dropped on my path and wanted to return home with me. For now it will sit on my working table to add seasonal magic. #WitchSky

Happy #Caturday. Mr. Kitten is subtly trying to pretend his claws are not extended into the lace curtains. Happy weekend everyone.
I do a second big herb harvest. The first was at solstice. I also start focusing on harvesting small acorns, hazel, and sometimes walnuts. I like to have all sizes for charms and spellplates. My fennel seeds aren't ready for harvest yet. I use those in tea for clarity and focus. #FolkWitchFriday
As July turns to August, the energy shifts. We stand at the peak of heat and the early threshold of harvest. How does your practice reflect this time? Are you cutting herbs, saving seeds, or preparing your space for the season ahead? Share your lore! #FolkWitchFriday #WitchSky #OccultSky #Seasons
In weather like this, my physical and magical self longs for water and high mountain scenery. Some places you can get both. Will hike for tarns. #Witchsky

My neighbor helped me take down the brush that was starting to get out of hand. The hedgerow of Hazel and Lilac had to have branches removed. So I told the Hazel I would collect any immature nuts from the pruning. I think I will offer them to my students for Wisdom & Intuition charms. #Witchsky
Good morning #WitchSky. Lammas/Lughnasadh is coming up for those who celebrate. This week, I'm working on my personal plans for the holiday, as well as the info I put out into the world. What are you all doing this week?
Thank you from the PNW. This, everywhere it's needed.
I really hope Canada can contain and put out these fires. I am so upset for them. It's scary. And now people and animals have lost everything. I will continue to send the vibes and energy for RAIN. LOTS OF RAIN! May it pour upon you! #witchsky #canada

I usually light a candle as soon as I hear, repeat their name, and ask that they have an easy crossing. Sometimes we have a small circle and share memories and sing. I also add their name to a list to be honored at our school's Samhain crossing the dead ritual. #FolkWitchFriday
A beloved Elder has joined the Ancestors in my community. Tomorrow, let’s discuss how your folk practice handles the immediate passing of a loved one or guide. What quiet vigils, mourning charms, or elevation rites do you perform to help ease their transition? Share your lore. #FolkWitchFriday
Last night I was lucky enough to see a beautiful golden sunset and the first sliver of the new moon with Mars. That is my sign to start my increasing magic. Even though Mars is not seen as benevolent, I think it gives a creative boost. This isn't my pic, btw. Do you work with moon phases? #WitchSky
Good morning #WitchSky. I decided to visit some of the local water and tree spirits in my neighborhood. So lucky to have this nearby. But sometimes I work with water in large puddles, or in a bowl from my tap. Do you put water on your altars or work with it somewhere in your neighborhood?
