Last week, Maple, Willow and Pine performed their wonnderful Colour Keys Music Performance to parents and carers! They played a variety of instruments, sang a range of songs, and enjoyed every second! Thank you to everyone who came to watch the performance.

This week in English, Rowan class (Y1) have been retelling the animation advert 'Sprout Boy' in their own words. The children have thought about fantastic sentences using nouns, adjectives, joining words and some of us have even written questions within our writing. Well done!

This half term, Olive class (YR) have continued to look at the artist Pissarro and his  art work of the four seasons. Last week, we focussed on Spring. We explored the beautiful blossom trees and their colours; the children created their own amazing trees using finger painting!

Hazel Class visited the Fitzwilliam Museum last week, taking part in a workshop, exploring Greek artefacts and revisiting the Egypt exhibition. They loved the blind-drawing challenge, spotting armour and completing their worksheets. An amazing day out!

Olive class were busy last week learning about measures in maths. They have explored size, capacity and weight. Olive class enjoyed weighing different objects and comparing their weight using the stem sentence "The cup is heavier than the pom pom" Well done Olive Class!

In geography, Elm class have used everything they have learnt this half term to create a map of their classroom. Pupils needed to ensure their maps included key features such as a title, symbols and a key. They produced some fantastic maps. Well done, Elm!

Last week, Aspen class enjoyed their multi-sports trip. They took part in dancing, hockey and rugby. They all listened really well to their coaches and worked together brilliantly. Well done to all students for taking part and trying their best! 🏑🏉

Preschool had a wonderful week making new friends and diving into Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? They explored colours, created a collaborative artwork for the book corner, and experimented with lines using watercolours and pegs. Well done, Preschool!

Y1 had a lovely visitor come in to teach us about Material Madness that links to our last science topic all about Materials. The children loved seeing and feeling the items that he brought in and the demonstrations of how materials worked. They had a great time!

Last week, Willow Class visited the Planetarium to deepen their understanding of their science topic on Space. They loved exploring the stars and planets. Later in the week, during RE, they shared special artefacts and explained their personal significance.

Willow class started exploring Twelfth Night by William Shakespeare. They discussed the themes of love and comedy, as well as exploring the main characters. They used lollipop sticks to act out the first part of the story and the dilemmas of unrequited love.

A huge well done to Y6, who had a phenomenal time on their residential. It's been lovely to hear about the memories made. We are very proud of them! Also a huge thank you to our staff team for giving up their own time from their own families to ensure that this trip could happen!
