No previous sitting U.S. president had an airport officially named after him while he was president. Trump is the first. It is not unprecedented worldwide. Kazakhstan renamed Astana’s airport after sitting President Nursultan Nazarbayev in 2017. Not exactly flattering company. Too imperial...
They did not get better at the game. They captured the referee, privatized the scoreboard, and bought the stadium. But systems built on rot still get their invoice. You cannot eat gold.
A con works best when it begins with truth. The anger is real. People see system with no answer for them. They see rules enforced down and favors distributed up. They see institutions speak in polished language while life gets harder. But noticing the break doesn’t mean you understand the machine.
My shorthand here: C&C = Constraints & Consequences RC = Reality Check RW = Reward Check RX = Receipts Check Fix = Repair Check Same core question underneath: what does the system reward, punish, hide, excuse, or make inevitable? My shorthand here:
The danger is not uncertainty. Uncertainty is normal. The danger begins when people treat the unknown as a gap that must be filled immediately. Then the standard changes. The answer no longer has to be supported. It only has to be available. That is where bad thinking begins.
AI is being sold as “efficiency,” but a lot of it looks like extraction with better branding. It extracts labor, energy, water, data, attention, and credit. The market rewards that because it can be monetized. That doesn’t mean it is socially useful. It means someone found a tollbooth.
The anti-UBI argument often needs “lazy people” to be villain. But laziness is not exploitation. Rest isn't theft. A quiet life isn't a social crisis. The real threat to a coercive economy isn't "people will stop contributing". It is that people might gain enough security to refuse bad bargains.
The objection to UBI is not really about money without work. It is about which class is allowed to receive money without work.
Dusting this account off and giving Bluesky a real try. I write about systems, labor, power, AI, religion, economics, human dignity, and the future of work. Progressive atheist, former teacher, current kitchen manager, full-time overthinker. Thoughtful people welcome.
A quick warning, so everyone knows, the revolution will not be televised. You will not see it on your screen…
If I wanted to convince you that government doesn’t work, I would do exactly what Trump is doing. I would hire Vance as a vice president. I would hire RFK as the person in charge of health and human services. I’d essentially hire every person that Trump is hired to run everything that he has run.
Hey MAGA, can you tell me how putting tariffs on Canada and Mexico, making groceries and stuff more expensive for us, has anything to do with stopping the fentanyl epidemic, or illegal immigration? Explain it to me like we're in economics class...
I know! My policies are failures. So, let’s DOUBLE DOWN! -Donald J. Trump
I honestly believe our most powerful position in a toxic time that feeds on cynicism, apathy, and despair is to genuinely care and act for a better world. Cynicism is our enemy. We should check it. It’s not intellectually superior. It’s the virus they’re trying to infect us with. -AOC

DONALD TRUMP: “I was saved by God to make America great again” are the most chilling words ever said by an American president. “When fascism comes to America it will be wrapped in the flag and carrying a cross.” Laughable. This is coming from someone who doesn’t even believe in any known gods.
And so it starts… ground.news/article/mark...
Ground News - Pentagon takes down Mark Milley portrait hours after Trump inauguration
A portrait of retired Gen. Mark Milley, the former chair of the Joint Chiefs of Staff who has feuded in highly public spats with President Trump, was taken down

So, prices aren’t down. So, Trump said he’d lower prices. So, Trump is stealing money from his supporters for inauguration. So, it’s indoors and they aren’t invited. So, is he giving the money back?
