I was inspired and am making some basic info cards for the various Demiurge lands with pronunciation and syllable stress guides. General vibe, basic overview, religion, and people. First up, Voerlund, Silverden, and Baletor.

Info card for the nation of Voerlund, it is pronounced Voor Lund. The background is a grey ancient castle on a rich green field. Voerlund was first settled six thousand years ago. The capital, Lundermark, is the oldest city in the Known World. The landscape is marked by verdant, rugged wilderness, deep forests, and high hills.

Voerlund has a storied history of intrigue, imperialism, rebellion, heroism, faith, and war. It is a stately, proud nation which wears the weight of its age with dignity.

Voerlund has been led by the illustrious Lunderman dynasty for five hundred years. Although many bloodlines have passed into it, the deep system of honour the family instituted has never broken.

Voerlunders are a pale gold people, with golden eyes and hair. It is believed their skin once shone radiant, but the deeds of their ancestors dulled them.

Voerlund is the original home of the World Serpent faith, centered around the veneration of a mighty but distant guardian deity and its custodian landwights.

The red wizard Carloman was born in Voerlund.

Baletor, known as the crossroads kingdom, is a metropolitan sprawl spread across the slopes of the mountain Baletor. Although inhabited for millennia, the city was founded by the exiles of a Voerlund succession war.

Baletor is a center for trade and commerce. The population is divided into the poorer Old City of the lower slopes, home to a cynical but hard-working and hard-playing folk, and the affluent New City of the upper slopes, for whom reputation and secrets are the true currency, are polite and officious.

Baletor's governance is divided between the Prince and the Guilds, and is rife with intrigue and conflict.

Baletor boasts the presence of every faith in the Known World, but of especial note are its native mountain god cult, and the Paladins of Imaal.

Baletorians of the modern day resemble earthen-hued landward natives but almost always bear golden hair or eyes, reflecting their dual origins.

Silverden is a theocracy, here called a Veneracy, founded over two thousand years ago when it broke from Voerlund to the north. It is a lush, undulating land through which flows the great Asoliad River.

Silverden is a land of strong yet gentle faith. They venerate the World Serpent as an all-pervasive force to be experienced. It is aided by the spirits of the dead, referred to as Custodian Dead. The nearness of divinity has informed much of the land's intensely spiritual and lively culture and customs.

Silverden is ordered into Cantons. At the center of each is a monastery headed by a venerate, ran by monks, and supported by towns around them. The capital Canton is one vast temple city. Although unified, some Cantons still harbour old rivalries, and conflict does arise.

Silverdens resemble their pale gold Voerlunder cousins save that the colouration of their features are darker or richer.

Carloman's memoirs are rambling tales with zero tonal consistency dictated to someone he's paying handsomely to not complain. He doesn't mention the Outer Dark, personally writing multiple sections to skirt around but still talk about "supreme perils" and "ancient fears" he and the gods overcame.

It's like, I'm gonna grind missions for a week for one cosmetic and never want to play this class ever again, you know? Make it ten missions, come on. Doesn't reduce the difficulty, just the slog.

One the one hand, I appreciate Space Marie 2 gating so many cosmetic rewards behind gameplay modes rather than currencies you buy. On the other hand, some of the requirements for a single piece of gear are some of the worst grinds I have ever seen. 25 top level difficulty missions for one (1) cape?
