Supernova SN 2026kid in the Knife Edge Galaxy (NGC 5907) tonight through a Green filter. Current mag. is ~15.6 by a quick aperture photometry on the stack in Siril. Stay tuned for an LRGB image later. 8" F4 Newt + 585 Mono 47 x 60s G, 2026-04-26 21:37-22:29 EDT (UTC-4) #Astrophotography #SN2026kid

The Rosette Nebula (Caldwell 49) is always a majestic sight to behold - a bright patch of H II emission in Monoceros, next to the distinctive Orion stars. A collaboration of two ToupTek HOPE D60 + ATR2600C setups resulted in the following shot over just a few hours of clear skies. #Astrophotography

Live stacking enables us to quickly get an idea of what major structures will show on the final image. I use the "Folder Monitor Camera" in SharpCap, in which I can open the folder with NINA data and stack exposures up as they accumulate. It's only a matter of increasing SNR atp. #Astrophotography

The California Nebula (NGC 1499) is a large, rich patch of emission in Perseus, its trapezoidal shape resembling the State of California. The Ha, SII and OIII components reveal beautifully in narrowband filters, and an OSC camera was used to compose the SHO image below. #Astronomy #Astrophotography

Th weather is looking really promising (a bit chilly here though) for southern Ontario and other areas around the Great Lakes starting Sunday! Find a place with good visibility of the western horizon and go meet #CometLemmon due west after sunset!😃 #Astronomy

Astrospheric weather forecast

You can easily snap quick shots of #CometLemmon with the landscape now, through regular cameras or phones, as long as the weather cooperates. This was a 10s exposure last night at ISO400, taken with a M43 camera and 17 mm f/1.8 lens (FF equivalent of ~35 mm) near Lake Simcoe. #Astronomy

NGC7822 and Sh 2-170 are two emission regions in Cepheus, that form a shape similar to a question mark. Using two dual band filters (6 nm Ha-OIII and 7 nm SII-OIII) with an OSC camera, I was able to produce a colourful composite of the area in true SHO palette🙂 #Astronomy #Astrophotography

The Cave Nebula (Sh 2-155) is a diffuse nebula in Cepheus within a larger cloud complex of various nebula types. Two nights of broadband followed by HaOIII data revealed dusty, reflective and emissive features surrounding the nebula in strong contrast with each other. #Astronomy #Astrophotography

I love how easy it is to spot Polaris B even through small-ish refractors. In this 5-sec snapshot during polar alignment you can visually count the pixels to gauge separation from its bigger brother. ~10 pixels, which is exactly ~18-19" given a pixel scale of 1.85"/px😄 #Astronomy

The Crescent Nebula is a popular DSO in Cygnus, known for its distinctive appearance embedded within the Swan's rich nebulosity. The 103APO combined with small pixels on the MiniCAM8 revealed nice details in the gas shells. Modified HOO + a little SII, ~4.5 h exposure #Astronomy #Astrophotography

The Veil Nebula, Pickering's Triangle and nearby nebulosity formed the western part of the Cygus Loop (Sh2-103) - an expansive supernova remnant ~2500 ly away that remembers the distant death of a massive star. 10 hours of Ha/OIII data captured on the Askar 103APO #Astronomy #Astrophotography
