My computer just woke me up to tell me it's hungry. I'm not kidding 😂 During a long-running task, it noticed the battery was draining, set the volume to 100% using Computer Use, then opened Google Translate and hit "Listen" so I could hear it asking. Pardon my French, but what the fuck? 🤯

AWS VPC is down. All 24 of my apps went down out of the blue. Customers started calling me all at once. Codex fixed it in just under 5 minutes by temporarily rerouting traffic between services over public IPs. This is my why. 💖

GPT-5.6 Sol is insane. Issues I've been dealing with for months, poof! Gone like that. Along with my entire weekly usage... 😂 But that's another story.

My personal projects: "Hmm, maybe if I switch from Biome to Oxlint, I could shave 420 femtoseconds off each CI run and make AI work faster?" At work: Today I had to convince a team member that having over 500 ESLint/TypeScript errors and no CI is, in fact, not a good idea. I just can't 🫠

A screenshot from Microsoft Teams message:

We are dependent on a foundation for the rest of the team to move forward with features, and what you’re describing boils down to linting and tests.

Do you prefer to move forward with the tasks and unblock everyone else's work, even if it’s not 100% perfect yet, and improve it later? Or would you rather have everyone wait and everything be blocked because of you?

It’s a matter of choice, we aren't working alone.

TIL you can use Codex to tell Codex to do stuff! It sounds silly at first, but managing multiple Codex conversations simultaneously from a "master conversation" is surprisingly powerful.

Sometimes when I'm thinking I'm not a good enough programmer, I remind myself that Instagram, a company with ~20,000 employees and ~$70B in annual revenue, shows me the number of likes with 0.1 precision.

I wanted an app that would let me see my remaining Codex and GitHub Copilot usage quotas as easily as I can see my remaining battery life. Prompted Codex, went to the gym, came back to this. Nice.
