This research was pioneered by Hull York Medical School’s Dr @annhutchinson.bsky.social, which reframes breathlessness not just as a physical symptom, but as an experience shaped by emotional, cognitive and sensory factors.
Our Breathing Space garden focused on breathlessness and our designer Angus Thompson took inspiration from research led by @hyms.ac.uk PhD student @katebinnie.bsky.social ky.social Kate's work explores how and why mind-body interventions, can reduce the distress associated with breathlessness.

The inequities in the experiences of people with COPD were amplified during the pandemic restrictions and continue to impact their lives, their health, their responses to exacerbations and the degree to which they can live well with breathlessness now. #Dyspnea2026 @annhutchinson.bsky.social

Palliative and end-of-life care accounted for ~10% of community nursing activity, delivered predominantly out-of-hours with an increase in crisis assessment. Data likely underestimates contributions – standardised data is key for service configuration and high-quality care at home. #EAPC2026

Social determinants of health are associated with end-of-life decision making recorded in EPaCCS. This matters because understanding how social determinants shape recorded decisions is essential to ensure equitable, person-centred end-of-life care. Great work @sophielaw-clucas.bsky.social #EAPC2026
Pain was more common in the most deprived groups, but improvement was similar across all quintiles.
