Wolverines: Truly the ATV of the North. Able to traverse deep snow, scale mountains, dig tunnels, climb trees, swim icy waters, and travel up to 40 miles in a single day!

Wolverines generally do not like to share their food. If they do share their food with you, that means they really like you!

Ugh I'm so tired... gotta think of interesting Wolverine facts. Uhm... did you know Wolverines have...teeth? -yawn- yeah that's a cool fact huh?

Hard to see, but Wolverines and other members of the Mustelidae family have a pair of upper molars that are rotated 90 degrees inward, creating a scissor-like fit with their last lower molar. This enables them to really latch on to things and tear at tough, even frozen flesh.

Wolverines are manipulative little buggers that use sad puppy tactics to get their way when brute force is no longer an option.

While it's very hard to see, Wolverines actually have horizontal pupils! This gives us a slightly wider field of view and keeps the ground in focus, aiding in things like situational awareness and navigation of uneven terrain!

When your fur insulates this well, snow becomes furniture

Wolverine mamas do most of the work raising the kits. Dads still help! But they sometimes have two or even three families they travel between, taking time to help each one. Those with only one family tend to pull a lot more weight with the kits, however.

Wolverine kits are born between Feb-March when deep snow is abundant. In some cases, these snow dens can have branching networks of tunnels up to 60m in total length, with multiple rooms used for different purposes like food storage or bathrooms! Check out wolverinefoundation.org/denning for more!
