One of my all time favorite episodes. We may call a lot of Batman villains "criminally insane" but Zeus is actively delusional. He meets Batman and just adds him to the delusion. He's surrounded by people too scared or greedy to question the rich guy with a lightning gun.

Maxie Zeus makes his sole BTAS appearance in "Fire from Olympus." This CEO turned villain with a god complex wants to rule over Gotham with a powerful electric cannon. It's an amusing script, especially when Maxie arrives at Arkham and finds himself truly "at home" among the pantheon of rogues.

I really feel like it should be bigger news that fibreglass is in IV saline bags in the US. This isn’t a situation where you might get a little sick. Fibreglass going directly into your veins will kill you. IV saline is used for almost every medical procedure. This is unconscionable:

All except one of course. Dolly Parton took the Carnegie model and ran with it. My kids get books from her Imagination Library every month. My oldest is going to treat her passing like the loss of a family member.

Andrew Carnegie: So here's an incredibly simple blueprint I've made to not be reviled for your wealth. It takes no effort and you keep most of your money. Other rich people: eh.

Time was you could roll out a janky piece of tech and people would see the potential, talk about how far it has come, how much work it took. Now we deride it for how far it still has to go. The difference? They didn't used to frame all new tech as dunking on human achievement.

A Chinese humanoid robot outran Usain Bolt’s 100-meter sprint world record on the opening day of the World Humanoid Robot Games in Beijing, posting a time of 9.39 seconds — 0.19 faster than Bolt’s pace in 2009.

Thoroughly random thought sparked by this: illumination determines the length of the GM's responses to questions describing the area. So, if you're exploring an area with only a flickering candle, you get two or three words, max. If you've got a torch, ten words; Light spell, unlimited.

I like the way the room names of Tomb of Armansquagulat (by the 3d6DTL guys) show the level of illumination in the room at a glance. I've seen a few iterations of this idea but this one is sticky. Notice how Area 1 is lit, Area 2 is partially lit, and Area 3 is dark. Neat!

Two page spread with room title keys in either brown text on yellow or yellow text on brown, representing lit and unlit rooms

Sequence: Preschooler climbs over playroom fence, sits on top, falls backwards onto the floor, starts crying. I bend to pick him up and keys in my pocket set off car alarm. Baby starts crying due to alarm. Less than 30 seconds from normal to cartoonish chaos. (Everyone is fine)
