The way Carrick has spoken about the 15-year-old kid has been class. The amount of scrutiny and pressure heaped on his shoulders at a young age has been so unnecessary. How can he ever live up to those expectations? That could mess up an adult, let alone a child.
There were rumours that SJR never really fancied Carrick, he went with the sporting recommendation on the back of the evidence via results. I’d be surprised if he gets a fraction of the rope that was afforded to Amorim,when things really spiral.
Couldn’t have asked for a better fixture this weekend. Away from the pressure of Old Trafford. Against a team with only 1 point this season, in turmoil themselves. Zero excuses.

The crux of it all is that, 13 years later, we are still treating 2 wins from 6 like a crisis. It isn’t a crisis. It’s standard form. We’ve seen form like that multiple times in a single season for 13 years. It’s Manchester United Football Club. Until it isn’t, again.
A bit funny though, innit? We can’t keep being surprised, angry and outraged.
If this guy somehow has the quality to drag us to a top 5 finish this season, he needs a statue outside the INEOS Grenadiers Mega Bowl.
Anyway, fuck it. I’m still buzzing off the Sabah win. 4 goals and a clean sheet. Lovely stuff.
Loads of emotions when we’re stuck in ANOTHER shit run of form. The vast majority I’m all completely familiar with. But my overriding feeling tonight is that Bruno Fernandes has to leave. He deserves trophies. He deserves to be a champion. He’s as far away now as he was on 1st February 2020.
What I really struggle with is why we are always so consistent weaker than the sum of our parts. I appreciate the sum of our parts aren’t 2010 Barcelona, but fuck me. I guess it’s the pressure. The weight of the shirt. The expectation.
I think the 2026 pre season was, in hindsight, the worst pre season in my living memory. Under cooked. Under prepared. Started the season in second gear. You know, like all bang average teams do.
With CL football this season, not being in the league cup isn’t a bad thing. It’s might turn out to be a blessing. But 2 wins from 6 is a very bad thing. It might turn out to be a curse.
One way or another, Julian Nagelsmann’s agent will be getting a call during the international break. Lose against Fulham and the call might be an urgent one. This is exhausting.
