I don’t read blurbs before starting books. If my brain goes, “what’s this book about and why can’t it get to the point?” I’ll know the story isn’t for me. But if my brain goes, “what‘s this book about and why can’t I put it down?” I’ll know it’s my 🍀 day Today’s 🍀: Jason Mott’s People Like Us #books

Have you ever loved a book so much that you hung onto its every word until you get to the end, and it utterly disappointed you? Almost like I thought I loved someone, but instead of reciprocating my love, it stabbed me in the back instead. I need some cookie dough ice cream… #reader #booksky

A lot of Chinese paranormal mythologies teach people that although monsters and spirits are scary, humans are the real evil-doers? Can’t wait to dive back into my #YAhorror in the fall after reading another great ghost story. What reality is lacking, fiction needs to make up for it. #writesky

At swimming lesson: My son to his swimming instructor: How old are you? Swimming instructor: 24. My son: oh god. My daughter: not as old as our mom. She was born in the last century. Thanks, guys. Lots of love. #momlife

Book 1, Theo, the golden retriever, best friend's boyfriend: “No way,” Theo hollers. He peers over with a smirk. “Dude, are you the mystery date?” Great, he can’t memorize the difference between the mitochondria and the nucleus from our tutoring sessions, but this he remembers. #writingcommunity

The same actors in one show can give you completely different vibes in another. What makes them memorable is not only captivating performance, but also characterization. A great character can make a great story. So #writers, be bold and create those awesome characters! #writesky

Anyone who loves a good revenge story and enjoys k drama should watch Teach You A Lesson on Netflix. It is serious and hilarious at the same time, waking you up to the uglies in the world but also giving a spark of hope that maybe there are heroes who want to change the world for the better. #kdrama

I usually make my antagonist the exact opposite of my protagonist in the sense that they press on the protagonists’ weaknesses. Protagonist seeks reassurance? Antagonist takes away their confidence. Protagonist seeks love and attention? Antagonist gives them distance and harsh disciplines #writesky

I have two book recs but I’m tooooo lazy to write a full blown review lately (eventually I will)…everyone should read Deathly Fates by Tesia Tsai and Death and Other Occupational Hazards by Veronika Dapunt! Both have loads of mystery, dark elements, and fantastic writing! #booksky #readers #books

Remember the good old days when ladies used to dream about our husbands cheating, then wake up really angry? Now I get to dream about my preteen daughter acting completely and utterly rebellious and wake up in an even more foul mood… #momlife

🚨SCAM ALERT🚨: I’ve heard from multiple writers that someone pretending to be me has been asking for their material (usually through an “editor” referral). This is a scam. I am currently closed to queries and encourage you to exercise caution when receiving these kinds of emails from ANYONE.

A rabbit was eating grass in our backyard. My 8yo son: do you think I can catch this rabbit? My husband: if you catch it, I’ll give you $2000 dollars. Son: really? Husband: yes. And now my son has been out in the yard chasing the rabbit for the last ten minutes… #momlife
