With getting some proper designs drawn for Calli/Alex, I'm tweaking their appearance along with some of the names/details of the world. Will do a big sweep through the chapters before I post the new one to make sure it's all accurate, and hopefully there will be less of these edits from now on!
Back from my trip with a couple dozen pages of notes and story ideas 💜 Feel very re-energized and excited to get back into sharing more here again!

Accidentally wrote Alexandra with Callista's last name in one of my worldbuilding documents. Getting ahead of myself, they're not married- ...yet! 💜
My new meds come with a lot of fatigue while I'm getting used to them so I've had the very frustrating sensation of really wanting to write but losing focus quickly. Will be posting chapters slower for the next few weeks, especially with the convention soon, but afterwards things should pick up! 🌺
Thinking about how nobody knew Alexandra was a princess- or at least, *exactly* who she was when she was hiding with the Court. The idea that someone in royal armor (because Calli is a sap and wore it for the journey to retrieve her) wanders up to a mercenary group and plucks one of their members...
Doing a nice little sweep of the Corvus stories to make sure everything is accurate, because a lot of it was written very early into its life and vaguely allude to things that don't make sense anymore. Apparently I left in that Alexandra has a dad, even though all the characters are women oops :|

Next Corvus story has its first draft done, now I get to sleep on it and do a bunch of editing tomorrow. We get to meet Callista's mom! Someone I've wanted to introduce for a while now to show a different side of her.
Been a busy gal and also fighting some health issues, so I keep falling behind on my writing. I might try to post something later this week, even if it isn't tomorrow. (Yes it's more Alexandra&Callista how did you know??)

Realizing I've (confusingly) written a short story that happens between part 1 and 2 of Alexandra & Callista's story, so I'm having to shift the numbers and the new chapter today will be part 2...again. I need to fix it somehow oops 🫠
Alexandra is very quick to make friends, despite the years of life around the royal court and then mercenaries. She tends to make fast friends, but deeper trust is very rare and takes time. Callista trusts maybe three people and thinks anyone trying to be friendly with her is after the princess.

I've realized that Calli's mother wouldn't have seen Alexandra yet since she came back from hiding, so she's completely unaware how much her daughter is beating herself up about letting the princess lose an eye. I really really need to write that out but I'm already midway through another story @_@

Instead of writing I spent the week figuring out Alexandra's design and making a moodboard oops...
Okay actually writing the design for my princess x knight sapphic pair. Kicking and screaming trying to actually describe specific things about my characters instead of broad, vague *vibes* that I'm used to. But they're worth it and I'm going to bankrupt myself getting art of them X3
When a suitor comes to court Alexandra, the princess doesn't really ever realize she's being flirted with unless they're bluntly obvious. She just naturally finds people interesting and loves learning their history, sometimes giving the same suitors the accidental impression she's interested too.

Okay these two are officially my one exception to the rule because I have 2-3 story ideas for them and really want to get designs done for both of them- the whole dynamic between them is my comfort dynamic and I deserve nice things lol
honeybea@writing-bea.bsky.social · 3mo agoI'm also trying really hard with not breaking my self-imposed rule of not writing about the same characters twice, but Callista and Alexandra and more forbidden love 'knight x princess' stuff tempts me so. If I ever make an exception it'll be those two 🥲
My actual writing goal this year is to completely move everything off of Google Drive and organize all my old writing so it doesn't get lost lol
Been an oddly huge amount of scam comments this time around on multiple sites compared to when I usually post chapters. No clue why but it keeps trolling me with the notifications 😭
