Watching a Deep Purple show from Vienna in 1987. One thing that gets me is how much improvisation done. No song in the show is under like 5 minutes. 2nd song in, Strange Kind of Woman, and they mixed in some Jesus Christ Superstar. Just one reason I think concerts were better back then

Cheap dinner idea: Frozen garlic butter mussels w/ fresh garlic, shallots, red pepper flakes, lemon zest & juice, and a little Sauvignon blanc to jazz them up and make them good. Add some crusty bread & olive oil along with greens dressed with extra virgin olive oil and lemon juice. Cheap and good
Last time I saw Deep Purple MKII, I saw them back to back nights at the Spectrum and may have taken enough acid to last through both shows and into a third day. Coincidentally, purple pyramids. Allegedly.
Just watched the Blackmore video from last night. Don’t know if it was just the video I saw but he was a little hard to hear over the current guitarist for Purple. But what I liked the most was that he and Gillan seemed to get along for once. Fingers crossed for a more proper reunion 🤞
