Smoke billows in the distance. On the left, a line of cars waits to safely evacuate. On the right, a cop car is parked with their emergency lights on and the rest of the roadway remains clear for emergency responders using the lanes to travel westbound towards the fires.

Heads up commuters! Two lanes are closed across the SR 16 Tacoma Narrows Bridge to Gig Harbor. The Jackson Ave ramp to SR 16 is also closed. We're making emergency repairs to this bridge joint. Expect congestion and delays during the PM commute.

Did you know our fish passage projects also benefit wildlife? We spotted this little fawn at one of our completed US 101 fish barrier removal sites. When we replace barriers to fish with larger culverts or bridges, wildlife can pass under the highway instead of across it 🦌💙

LAST CALL: Studded tires must be removed by March 31 in Washington. Keep them on past the deadline and risk a $137 fine from Washington State Patrol. Plan ahead, tire shops get busy. If winter makes a comeback, use approved traction tires or carry chains.

US 2 Tumwater Canyon closure is "Over Now", but with snow continuing to fall this Friday morning, we are at chains required on both Stevens Pass and Blewett Pass. "Don't Follow" plows too close and drive for conditions with headlights on. "No Excuses".
