Manchester United have appointed Eva Olid as their new head coach. The former Hearts boss has signed a two-year deal, replacing Marc Skinner who left earlier this week after five years in charge.

London City Lionesses have named ex-Arsenal partnerships director Natasha Beare as their new commercial director. Beare spent five years at the north London club but has also worked at the Football Association and sports agency Havas Sports & Entertainment.

Brighton Women have signed their first standalone sponsor with social media app Pinterest agreeing a four-year deal with the club. Pinterest's logo will feature on the back of Brighton's shirts, and the two parties will collaborate on various creative activations.

Marc Skinner has left Manchester United by mutual consent. The head coach departs just four weeks before the start of the WSL season. He had been in the role since 2021, winning an FA Cup and steering United to the Champions League for the first time.

Uefa has said it will boycott the World Cup if Fifa president Gianni Infantino's plans to sell off stakes in Fifa competitions to private investors goes ahead. The move would see Uefa nations pull out of several women's football competitions across the next year.

The WSL fixtures for the 2026-27 season are out. London City Lionesses will host Manchester United on the opening weekend of the season on Friday 4 September at 7pm, live on Sky Sports. Chelsea-Aston Villa at 12.30pm on 5 September is the BBC's opening game.

Barbra Banda scored four goals in Zambia's opening game at WAFCON. The Zambia captain was involved in five of her side's six goals as they defeated Egypt in Group C.

WAFCON debutants Malawi have beaten Nigeria 3-2 in the opening game of Group C. Temwa Chawinga scored two and her sister Tabitha scored one as Malawi overcame the holders in one of the biggest shocks the tournament has ever seen.
