Flowers of Yemen 🇾🇪 2017 Took these photos as I travelled around Yemen. My actual job: review the medical supply chain for save the children, during a high intensity war AND during a major cholera epidemic. Lives were indeed saved. The beauty of Yemen stayed with me... ❤️

One week since the IFORS conference in Vienna. A week when yours truly had to navigate cancelled flights, delayed visas, enhanced security protocols for 'western expats' in Baghdad, curtesy of the Iraq government, return to Erbil via road, daily attacks by Iran Life goes on..

Baghdad Iraq 🇮🇶 Flying over the majestic Tigres/Digle ✨️ river as I was coming in to land. Flight was about 30 minutes early than planned, which was possibly for the best, all things considered. Just on a point of order, I'm Irish, not American or British. Just saying...

This little suitcase and I both checked in at Vienna airport 🛫 Friday morning. The suitcase went onto Baghdad early Saturday morning while yours truly only finally was reaquainted a few moments ago. Welcome to Baghdad Iraq 🇮🇶 folks. The eagle has landed 😉

SAW airport Istanbul 🛫 FINALLY... I'm checked in with Iraq airways. Hour or so before boarding so might partake in some beverage of the grape 🍇 kind 😇 😁 Will we actually land in Baghdad later today? only god knows... Anyhow, fingers crossed 🤞

No offence Istanbul but yours truly needs to return to Baghdad Iraq but before I do so I thought I'd treat myself to some classic baklava. Don't @ me 😉😁

My first academic presentation. Vienna Austria 🇦🇹 at the International Federation of Operational Research Societies conference. Topic: The Transition from the Humanitarian Response to Long Term Development - Iraq as a Case Study. A Case study of failure.

Istanbul Turkey 🇹🇷 I had planned to go to Baghdad Iraq 🇮🇶 overnight from Vienna but the visa processing department in Iraq seems to be having a very nice weekend away from the office. Nice for them, pain in the ar$e for yours truly. On the bright side, Istanbul food is 👏

Bild

I'm literally dripping in all things Vienna and Austria 🇦🇹... And yes, I did have a chilli 🌶 bratwurst sausage and couple of citrus beers 🍻 Because I'm worth it 👌

Yours truly has completed his registration for the International Federation of Operational Research Societies conference here in lovely Vienna Austria 🇦🇹 Looking forward to delivering my presentation on Wednesday morning 🙏 Overnight flight from Iraq, hitting the hay now 😴

Oh Vienna... I'm on the road again 🎵 folks. Didn't want to tempt fate by posting sooner as it's hard to know if flights will depart from Erbil Kurdistan Iraq these days. International federation of operational research societies. Delivering a paper I am, as you do.

The future of the Iraq & Kurdistan Supply Chain sector are people such as Lavin. She is so enthusiastic, such an entrepreneur and unbelievably dedicated. It's an honour to be supporting her during these tentative steps to the professionalisation of her career ❤️
