Mum of two amazing girls, former evolutionary biologist now learning how to do research in science education.
EvoKE explained: who we are and what we do 🧵 EvoKE (Evolutionary Knowledge for Everyone) is a nonprofit organisation bringing together researchers, educators, evolutionary biologists, science communicators, policymakers, and curious minds from around the world
We need to truly thank this team for the amazing work they are doing to promote evolutionary literacy! Thank you amazing team!!!!
Meet the #EvoKE Communications Team 📣 We have different backgrounds and a shared passion for evolution education and science outreach 🧵1/10 #EvolutionEducation
What do pea plants have to do with evolution? 🌱 More than you might think. Gregor Mendel's careful experiments uncovered the rules of inheritance, explaining how traits are passed from one generation to the next. Gregor Mendel was born #OTD in 1822! 🧪 #GregorMendel #Evolution #Genetics #EvoKE
Really proud to be part of this group! Thank you EvoKE board members for making this happen!! Will you join us?
Last week, our special EvoKE webinar brought together 14 participants from 7 countries. Together, we launched the EvoKE Working Group on Learning Progressions, a collaborative initiative that will bring together diverse expertise to co-develop a learning progression for evolution education 🧪 1/3
They ruled the oceans for over 340 million years. They survived three mass extinctions. Then vanished in a geological instant. What do we actually know about how ammonoids lived, grew, and behaved before they became fossils? #Webinar #Ammonoids #Fossils #EvoKE #Palaeontology 🧪 #EduSky
Let's protect the ocean and its amazing biodiversity, shaped by evolution across billions of years and celebrate World Ocean Day! 💙🌎 #WorldOceanDay #ProtectOurOceans #Biodiversity
The ocean is the cradle of all life and the place where biological evolution started to shape biodiversity, setting the stage for life on land. Most of the major biological groups that exist on Earth are found exclusively in the ocean! 💙🌎🧪 #WorldOceanDay #ProtectOurOceans #Biodiversity

What can we do? Protect crop diversity and use evolutionary knowledge to develop more resilient crops and farming systems. #WorldEnvironmentDay
In diverse populations, natural selection acts on existing variation, increasing the frequency of advantageous traits over generations. Preserving genetic diversity in crops and their wild relatives helps safeguard traits that may be needed to cope with future climates, pests, and diseases.
Rising temperatures, droughts, floods, and new pests are threatening food production worldwide. Within crops, some individuals have traits that make them more tolerant to these challenges.
Genetic variation provides the raw material for adaptation. Populations with more variation are more likely to cope with environmental change. What can we do? Protect genetically diverse populations and preserve their adaptive potential.
Climate change is one of the greatest challenges we face today. But what if understanding evolution could help us respond to it?
🌍 This World Environment Day, let's stop taking our home for granted and start acting as responsible stewards of the living world #WorldEnvironmentDay
Yet in that brief moment, we have become a force capable of reshaping the planet. We are not just witnesses to Earth's history. We are now influencing its future The choices we make today will affect biodiversity, ecosystems, and the evolutionary trajectories of countless species, including our own
🧪#WorldEnvironmentDay Modern humans are the outcome of billions of years of cosmic history, biological evolution, and countless chance events. If Earth's 4.5-billion-year history lasted just one minute, Homo sapiens would appear only in the final 0.004 seconds.

Nature is queer 🌈 Did you know that same-sex behavior has been documented in more than 1,500 animal species? From black swans forming long-term male-male partnerships to female grizzly bears engaging in same-sex interactions, these behaviors are a natural part of the animal kingdom. Thread 👇🧪
🌈 Happy Pride Month! 🌈 This month, we are exploring the incredible diversity of life through the lens of evolutionary biology. From homosexuality and sex-changing in animals to unusual reproductive systems and anatomies that challenge our expectations 🧪 #PrideMonth #Pride2026 #Biodiversity #EvoKE

How are you celebrating International Day for Biodiversity? Why does biodiversity matter to you? What are you doing for biodiversity? Let us know! #BiodiversityDay
What can you do for biodiversity? Support policies that promote biodiversity conservation and mitigate climate change, help control invasive species, join species conservation efforts, and inspire others to do their part! #BiodiversityDay
Why does biodiversity matter? It regulates water, air, and soil quality, provides us with food, medicines, and raw materials, and contributes to soil fertility. Biodiversity is also important for our wellbeing. Read more about the impact of biodiversity: www.who.int/news-room/fa... #BiodiversityDay
All of the extant biodiversity, meaning the living organisms that currently exist, is the product of evolution. The diversity of living organisms also contributes to the present-day evolutionary processes #BiodiversityDay
What is biodiversity? It’s the diversity of living organisms on different levels of organisation: the diversity of ecosystems, species, as well as the genetic diversity within species #BiodiversityDay
EvoKE beautifully celebrated the international biodiversity day! Given its importance, Biodiversity should be celebrated every single day! Join EvoKE and make every day a celebration of biodiversity and of the evolutionary processes that shape it!
On the 22 of May, we celebrate the International Day for Biological Diversity. For us at EvoKE, it’s an occasion to share the message that all life on Earth is a product of biological evolution and is constantly evolving!
