Sinners is an absolute masterpiece. Full stop. It was so rich, so layered, so detailed. It is the most brilliant piece of art, of any kind, that I have encountered in ages, and I am in awe. The one piece of advice I would give to non-Black folks before seeing it? Read Jean Toomer’s Cane first.
