I got to see this as one of those free tickets you get for giving your opinion after the showing, and it was the most AMAZING experience, because nobody had a clue what it would be about. I'm not often in a movie theater where people are cheering, but this audience did. A lot.

Stealing a concept from an artist I saw on Instagram, I wanted to make myself a little tiny moon. And I did! He's very cute.

Took a pic directly after a long walk because I've been feeling kind of not-so-fab about my shape (I'm still in the shape of a person, don't worry), and it came out ok, so I'm sharing it because what's the internet if not to post pictures of your own head?

Morning doodle: Rose.

I just made a sheet pan dinner with sweet potatoes, some Aloha sausage (it's flavored with pineapple and ginger), pistachios, maple syrup, soy sauce, sriracha and ginger. It's so delish.

One thing I did, sort of tangentially related to this, is that I spent all of one year trying to consume only independent media of all types. So podcasts and video series instead of TV, indie music, self-published books, etc. I focused on queer artists and writers, and there's so much greatness.

If you are a movie or book person, I urge you to try this experiment. What happens if you opt out of the Male Canon Of Greatness for a year? See the same number of films or read the same number of books, but deliberately choose authors and creators whom the patriarchy does not elevate.

I did four art events this month, and even taking into account the table fees, gas money, and supplies for making everything, I could have paid my rent with the profits, which honestly makes me a little emotional. I fell like I'm getting close to being comfortable saying I'm "an artist."

This week’s market sales are wildly varied. So many people buying my older abstract paintings and also the light switch plates I almost gave up on. I may try for one market in August but it’s probably better to try to get a Halloween gig or two and then holidays.

My fourth weekend in a row where I’m outside, under a tent, trying to convince people to buy art.

Avoiding adding details to last night's cat painting by starting the basics of another cat painting. I figure I can tackle the hard part later on, when I'm sure to make them look Not Quite Like Cats At All.

Weird accomplishments: Paul Rudd once read a play of mine and wrote an email that it was “pretty good” (I was saying his childhood best friend.) I was in a VidCon ad with JoJo Siwa (well, my puppet Sullivan Spaniel was). I kissed Clinton Kelly in a gay bar in college (well we’re both in college)

Weird accomplishments; I have an official My Little Pony based on me Deadpool uses my name in the first two movies and spoke at length about Women In Refrigerators I turned down Gene Simmons, Paris Hilton and Bacardi. My name was officially made into Babs Gordon’s middle name. More to come!

Something new in my “Small Textures” series…I think I’ll call them “Melts.” Abstract, multicolored textures pouring off the canvas and onto their frames. 4”x4”.
