Still got 4 PCBs of my project and no idea what to do with them. No point building 4 more of it... Already got the one I need 😅

If it comes from Facebook it's a piece of shit So far this rule has proven extremely efficient in picking tech products, from Yarn to React. But I must say, Zstandard works just great. Blows LZMA out of the water on CPU cost (270x faster) and even compresses better. Thanks Python for adding it

I moved away from GitLab about 3 geologic eras ago when they said there was going to be limits on users in a private group without paying. Well they start enforcing it now. That's funny somehow

Nolan's interview: AI is a Trojan horse made of glass Nolan's movie: the Trojan horse destroyed civilization At least we know where he's standing, nothing too dramatic

What I love about Fable is that it knows the coding agent platform will prevent it from reading the .env so it just cheats immediately

iOS be like: oh no you used all disk space with one single 50 Go video, let me delete all your apps for you

Currently interviewing people for cloud engineering roles and it's pretty sad to hear that they all boil down DevOps to be CI/CD Nothing about lean development practices, version control, testing, monitoring, job satisfaction...

Really not sure what to think of Nolan spending A LOT more effort than I thought into filming in IMAX All that for a handful of people to ever be able to see the movie as "intended" Is that elitist bullshit? An actual break from the great normalizer? Guess I should watch the movie

All my Bambulab X1C connectivity issues are gone since I'm in direct LAN mode instead of cloud. SURPRISE SURPRISE

Me: making a trivial app, must support billions of screens and devices Nolan: tries to reach the heart of people, makes a movie that can only be seen correctly on 41 IMAX screens worldwide Less people will see the "intended" movie than ravers manage to enter the Berghain 🫠

OpenGrid vs SKÅDIS: looks like it's rougly half price per m² to print your own OpenGrid than buy SKÅDIS

Companies: we have to know how many people visited our website GDPR: sure you don't need to ask for consent for this Companies: I WILL ASK FOR CONSENT ANYWAYS FOR A GIGATON OF SHIT DATA THAT I'LL NEVER BE LOOKING AT AND WHICH IS INHERENTLY WRONG AND IRRELEVANT AND RUIN MY WEBSITE YOU FORCED ME

Just learned about Hyprland. Would be so cool to use it if only I didn't put every window in full screen all the time

Me: I'm trying to shoot myself in the foot, should I aim then pull the trigger? Gemini: What a brilliant way of sabotaging your work! That's exactly how you should do this, you are such a genius!

Me: Use the metric system please Gemini: And don't worry, we will stick strictly to the metric system. No football fields or washing machines per square eagle here. --- That might be my new favorite unit 🤣

Just spent $10 of Fable 5 to fix my server (non-critical thing...) where $20 of Gemini 3.1 Pro didn't succeed. Fable 5 is definitely going to be a go-to model for debugging vasts amounts of crap (the precise use-case is: there are 80 containers with Go of logs, something is broken, figure it out)

The iPhone's UX is cruel, but the most cruel thing they do is probably show you a screenshot of last time you used the app instead of a loader, and right when your brain starts tuning to it completely re-draw the screen to something entirely different. There is NO world in which this is useful...

So wait, you could in theory "stack" peristaltic pumps and share one motor between all of them. Also you can probably print them in place entirely (besides electronics). Feels promising somehow?

Anthropic: Fable is prohibitively expensive for coding but it's SO good at cybersecurity Me: Great, can I use it for cybersecurity? Anthropic: lol, no

A side-by-side meme. The left panel shows a pleading, shy emoji with large puppy-dog eyes and hands pointing index fingers together, positioned beneath the text "Can you audit this?". The right panel features a screenshot of Gandalf from The Lord of the Rings holding his sword and staff. He has the glowing, orange Anthropic (Claude) logo on his forehead, and bold white text at the bottom reads, "YOU SHALL NOT PASS!".
